This place is amazing. The service is excellent. The welcome is warm. They were able to get me with an unusual problem, which they solved, they got me up and running.

There's a coffee shop upstairs that raises money for a charity that helps and supports homeless people.

I'm really proud of Halifax bank and I'm really pleased to be a customer.

I find it ridiculous that Halifax only allows customers to deposit 10 bags of coins per day. What are we supposed to do when our change bottles are full? On top of that, I have to pay for parking just to visit the branch! It’s all legal tender, so what’s the issue? I used to think Halifax was a decent bank, but this is an absolute joke.

I now need to find a bank that will accept my coins—when I do, I’ll definitely be moving my account.

Shame I have to give them one star should be 0

I truly appreciated her proactive approach and attention to detail, which resulted in my issue being resolved swiftly. It’s rare to encounter such a high level of customer service, and I left feeling very satisfied. Highly recommend this branch and especially Ms. Khan for her outstanding support.

The bank's customer service was always good except for a very strange decision by the branch NOT to let the bank customers use the bathroom. They claim you have to be (attention) the bank's cafe's customer to use it (just being a bank customer isn't enough). So just to reiterate, there's a cafe INSIDE the bank, which wouldn't let you use their bathroom unless you buy smth from the cafe - and, yes, banking with the bank isn't enough to use the bathroom. Just how ridiculous that is.

Now, this is very off-putting. Why would you have the facilities and prohibit YOUR own customers from using them. If you're paranoid with bank's customers using the cafe's toilet (would struggle to understand why), then arrange a toilet for just the bank's customers or drop these unnecessary complexities altogether. I'm not asking for free coffee (which, by the way, you get offered during private appointments) - this is a basic human decency thing.

Honestly, despite the bank's best effort to remain customer-centric, ridiculous things like that are just driving all your efforts away in attracting and keeping the customers. This is one of the basic ways of showing to your customers that they are valued. I really don't care about the intricate details of the arrangement between the bank and a cafe. I came for a service, and customer service standards should be upheld throughout one's visit.

It’s a nice branch, looks impressive, but I do agree with reviews that service is slow and staff stand around chatting to each other while people stand in queues.
Also of note, it’s open on Sundays but has no counter service available at all. I’m writing this review to let others know so as not to waste time going.

As bank branches go, this is the nicest I've seen with long opening hours, a café upstairs, deposit boxes downstairs, all services including mortgage consultation. Whether you like Halifax or not, the Oxford Street branch is impressive.
