I had a wonderful hour walking around the grounds and a brief walk inside the building, then took part in the Eucharist
(First time in adulthood), which was very special.

We spent an hour visiting this remarkable building. There is a deep sense of history as soon as you enter the door.
We were met with 2 of the minsters volunteers who were very helpful and knowledgeable .
There is a wooden ceiling with paintings on it there are long views down the church to the magnificient leaded windows there are small chapels on either side . In one of the chapels we came across 12 Mouseman chairs with the carved mouse on the legs.
If you are in the area this is well worth looking in , you will not be disappointed . There is a Matalan shop behind it with plenty of parking if the other car parks are full

Had a fantastic evening with music of the carpenters with the British Carpenters lovely ambience and magical lighting and very efficient bar service not had to wait long at all would highly recommend 👍👏👏👏

What an absolutely beautiful building to be able to walk into and admire not only from the outside but the inner craft i actually find my inner peace just walking around this place plus always admire it from a far that it has stood the test of time a total historical building .
I would highly recommend a nice peaceful walk around the buildings then a glance at all the stained glass windows inside with the most amazing architecture structure to me this place is just incredible.

Fist time that I have visited this church, they had an exhibition of Christmas trees sponsored by local businesses and charities. This church is steaped in history dating back hundreds of years, I highly recommend a visit

Lived in Halifax for 4 years and have wanted to visit! I am SO GLAD I did today.

This building is stunning and a credit to the town of Halifax! There is so much history you could get lost for hours, and it is FREE!

I am going back, taking friends and will be attending the Christmas Carol service.

Today the primary school in which I work took 60 early years children to visit this beautiful church. We went to view the Christmas trees that are on display until Christmas. A full recommendation is given to this stunning church.

Visiting Halifax today for the first time in many, many years, Halifax Minster was on my list of places to see.
It’s a magnificent building absolutely steeped in history-in fact it is the oldest Grade 1 Listed Building in Halifax and well worth a visit.
Unfortunately my arrival coincided with the preparations for the funeral of an elderly parishioner so I didn’t linger, but I was able to take in some of the stunning stained glass and painted ceiling panels.
I did see the organ and noticed how much beautiful wood there was throughout, from the very ornate font cover to the stunning pews and elegant chairs.
The remains of Anne Lister’s gravestone (Gentleman Jack) are on display and she is buried there.
There is a lovely, welcoming atmosphere in the Minster and it is obviously well used and revered by its congregation.
I will definitely be back to explore more of the Minster.
