Had a great boxing day round of golf here, despite the fog and lovely British winter weather we had a nice chill round.

Met one of the directors in the car park, a nice guy who showed us around and gave us the lay of the land.

Played early morning with my son, he had an inset day and wanted to try a different course.

Played on first tee time, a challenging first hole and greens were in great condition. Unfortunately two temp greens in the first 6 Holes but the rest of the course wasn’t in bad condition considering the recent rain.

Staff and members friendly, course was good. Unfortunately they did not offer a junior rate for visitors. Would be nice to see them encourage junior golf more by offering junior visitors rates.

Just returned from a funeral wake
The venue was freezing and we had to keep our coats on. The heating hadn’t been turned on and all the radiators were cold. Apparently they don’t put the heating on if there is no golf on.
I would expect the cost of the venue hire to include heating especially in the middle of January.
This was an 89 year olds funeral so as you can imagine the majority of people attending were OAPs

Great course in good condition for a party/society day out. Played 27 holes. Bacon roll, soup and sandwiches and two course dinner was ok.
However, featureless holes but with well protected greens with bunkers.
Not sure about services or daily catering availability for members.

Lovely course and good food. The only problem is they are redressing the greens after some problems. 2 temp greens in place. Once the greens have been sorted it will get 5 stars

Attended christening party in Haydock golf club, beautiful surroundings. Club and restaurant very clean and nice, fresh decorated. Staff was very helpful and professional. It’s enough space for 100 guests or even more.

First the good part. With friends we entered a recent open event. Course and staff running the event were great, no complaints at all. Unfortunately the compliments end there. We were fortunate to finish in the prizes but as we had travelled from the Midlands we asked if the vouchers could be collected the next year when we travel to Lancashire again. The manager has since refused to extend their deadline of collection within 6 months and despite a request to post items to us has subsequently failed to answer any messages, totally ignoring us. They have proved to be obstinate and lacking in any customer service but obviously happy to take our entry fee. In fact when I phoned the pro shop was rudely told by a female member of staff.."Why have you entered if you can't collect the prizes" At no stage have they tried to come to a compromise or try to help us collect our vouchers and I would completely deter any visitor from outside their area from entering their open events.
I still wait for communication some 3 weeks later.
