Booked for New Year’s Day lunch and absolutely shocking. Private room was booked which wasn’t even ready, place still a tip from the night before, toilets not clean & taps on sink not working. Food had been pre-ordered yet they seemed to know nothing about it although they had the emails and taken a £150 deposit at the time of ordering. The lady serving seemed to blame everything on lack of staff which wasn’t our fault. Food was lukewarm and not plentiful. Food appeared very quickly and obviously hadn’t been cooked fresh, it appeared to be pre-prepared and just warmed in the microwave. Not made to feel welcome.

Seeing some of the reviews after I stopped, may have put me have however...let's put a few things into perspective. I was only doing a one night stay, the room was around £40-£50 cheaper than other accommodation I stay in the area. I have stayed in worse places and paid more. I had a standard double room which was clean quite possibly recently painted, well away from the function room so quiet. Yes there was a little noise from adjoining rooms but certainly no more than you would get in the likes of big chains like TL and PI. The bed was comfortable and clean so no issues here.
The night we stayed they had three team members visible covering the bar and restaurant as well as reception. We were uncertain whether the bell was working, until we later sat in the bar and heard how annoying it was for the team when it was pressed repeatedly (sorry guys) Luke was friendly and helpful and the bar staff likewise.
The only downside for us was down to a group of other customers who after eating their whole meal complained. In fairness been close enough to hear what was going on I thought the resolution was fair, but they got louder and more obnoxious towards the staff who remained calm and polite throughout. Even to the extent of apologising to other customers for the disruption. So for us, the friendly welcome pleasant evening and value for money scores this a top mark...

Pretty shockingly awful experience, even at the low price. I was stuck in a room (room 2 - be warned) that was right beside the check in desk and steps away from the bar. Full loud talking at the front desk until way after midnight, as if there was not someone in a room a couple of feet away, and incredibly noisy bar until later. I was fully unable to sleep the two nights I was there. And to top it off, the morning after my second night, it was deemed appropriate to vacuum the area outside of my room, loudly and with the vacuum knocking repeatedly into my door - at 7:10 am! Nice enough staff, but thoroughly inept. And there should be no rooms where mine was located. The bed was comfortable, but if you’re trying to sleep in the middle of Times Square, the comfortable bed really doesn’t matter. I won’t be back.

From check-in to check-out our experience was wonderful.|Cleanliness 5*|Comfort 5*|Peace & quiet 5*|Extra tea, coffee, etc readily available at reception. ||Not a complaint, more of an observation, more hooks to hang coats etc would be nice. Possibly some teaspoons. Although we didn't see any at breakfast so maybe they don't use them. Personally I didn't NEED one but there are some people maybe that do. |Breakfast choices were great, cereal, muesli, toast, pastries, Yogurt plus a full english and a good sized glass for juices was such a treat. Not your over-sized egg cup!!|We were lucky enough to have the chef cook breakfast on two days, (even re-did mine, as there'd been cracked pepper sprinkled over and I'm allergic to any pepper) , also we had the buffet style one day, no complaints for either!||Overall we were very happy with our stay, value for money and would definitely stay again, this time was for a wedding across the road, next time it'll be just because we can

I recently enjoyed a evening out with my husband at Hockley House for a meal . The bar and restaurant are lovely . Very clean . The front of house Manger greeted us with a smile and eye contact and made us very welcome when showing us to our table . She was very well dressed and professional and made sure throughout our evening we were looked after . You don't receive service like that very often . We will definitely go back .

The hotel and the rooms are very tired. Curtains hanging from a few hooks for example. Staff really unhelpful when the key card didn't work. They were only interested in trying to charge me for the room after I had paid ahead of time. Very limited food available in the bar and restaurant. Noisy wedding in the room below us.

I had my wedding party here . From the minute I came to the hotel Luke & Demi were attentive helpful and went above n beyond to make sure everything went to plan. We had projector screen with our videos which Luke helped and pretty much sorted it all for us we would have been stuck without his help. Demi was on hand aswell all night making sure all our guests were looked after. I couldn’t of asked for anymore you guys absolutely made the night go so smoothly so “THANKYOU”
we had a buffet which everyone loved so I highly recommend that if your having a party for 50-100 people.
Rooms are fine comfy n do the job 🙂
I was able to also bring my dogs as hotel is dog friendly which is also a bonus.
We had breakfast in the morning which is included in the room rate which was great.
All in all a brilliant venue with amazing staff! All on hand to help.
Special mention to one of the staff who helped me fix my mr & Mrs lights that I couldn’t switch on! Saved the day!

This hotel has been taken under new management, Luke & Demi , so rest assured If your booking any function you will be looked after by these guys.
