Don’t go here! Total waste of time! First, you’ll wait forever for an appointment, and then the therapy is terrible. They’re good at listening but deliver on nothing. The staff seemed inexperienced, didn’t take things seriously, and only made my mental health worse. I was passed around to different people, constantly repeating myself while they focused more on risk and ticking boxes than on actually listening and understanding my needs. My GP's Mental Health Nurse was much faster, caring, and helpful with medication reviews and hospital referrals. Appointments at Holly Lodge often get canceled, phones go unanswered, and they don’t return calls when you leave voicemails. The communication is terrible, the staff don’t seem bothered, and everything with them was a complete drag!

Every time I am given an appointment that I have waited months for I get a phone call at the last minute or sometimes no call at all to say it’s been cancelled as the doctor or nurse has been called away on an emergency. Thing is mine issue was an emergency initially. Make you feel so not valued.

If there was a choice for no stars then that would be my choice.
My Dr sent a referral to them and they sent it back asking him to do their jobs and to report back how my day to day life was affecting my mental health, and basically saying that I was looking for meds, well I'm a anti pill guy for one so that is so wrong.
also blaming past relationships on my notes for todays episodes.
A month later I was given a cancelation appointment I still would be waiting for one, so I turned up and was confronted to a very frosty reception?
firstly can I wear a mask I said no I am exempt why was the reply not that it is any of their business and also the very fact mask wearing was now abolished and it was illegal to be asked why a person is exempt.
so now I get escorted into a room with my partner and basically was on edge from the start because of the start, well for one I was judged from the start in the fact that I can get agitated easily and talk really fast.
at one point she turned to my partner and said " I would have to put him in another room if I lived with him"
I felt really low after that as it is the response in everyday life but to hear it from a mental health nurse well shell shocked is all I can say, my partner picked her up on it and she did apologise but it should not have been said in the first place!!!
so my diagnosis is down to this person who i feel she thought there was not that much wrong with me without even knowing my life and my walk etc etc.
I would not recommend Holly Lodge at all, I would rather pluck a stranger off the street and talk to them then go to so called specialists.
And yet the media are always sprouting on about mental health etc etc yeah all good if your celeb not a real person with real dark issues!!!

Yet again another very bad time there at Holly Lodge?
So I finally get to maybe a diagnosis and see a shrink via a laptop screen 🙁
Well for one there was no introduction just a generic name call and follow me not I am such and such etc.
Then the zoom meeting we'll let's just say I e ded up walking out as I totally disagreed with what j was told.
So unprofessional to say the least,to think this is what we're up against is a home.
Holly Lodge should be turned into something more beneficial fit the public as it serves no purpose for those with mental health issues!!!

yet again with these services total waste of time, 3 one hour phone chats, just repeating all that was said last time, if i just wanted to talk i could at any time call Samaritans, i was hoping to get 'help' and get some understanding not just an ear! after just 3 or 4 sessions told it would be my last chat session, what good is that?
i have always thought that ''there's always help out there when needed, that is till you need it''
a service not fit for purpose in my view, hope they have helped somebody..

This gets a one because it won’t let me go into the minus numbers….

Poor service. Best way I can describe my treatment and the nurse who comes to see me every other week is I have an awful friend who I see every fortnight for coffee. She usually texts last minute to say she’s had a better offer..( there’s a meetings I must attend, sorry) never checks in to see where I am ok with my mental state or I it will be ok to have waited a month to see her. I’ve yet to see how the ‘service’ is going to help my mental health improve. We’ve been in contact since July, 5 months now. Should have know from the start as my very first appointment was cancelled!

Absolutely the worst experiences of my life with this place. After numerous complaints through PALS I've so far been wrongly medicated, signed off the books a week after being released from a Psychiatric assessment facility for being suicidal without the team even seeing me and most recently had my appointment cancelled and promised a follow up for them to completely neglect to follow up. So for the 900th time in the last 14 years I now have to find the strength to chase them for the next fortnight for them to do their jobs.
I have a rapid cycling form of Bipolar and all of my paperwork states that statistically I'm more likely to self harm or have suicidal ideation, I have self harmed and had suicide attempts previously. My last suicide attempt was last year. This apparently is not a serious enough mental illness to require any sort of care from the CMHT because they don't like to deal with anyone who takes any effort to care for.

Absolutely useless. I spoke to these on the phone months back and I was meant to have an online ocd course arranged for me and I've heard zilch back. Would not recommend at all.
