It's been many a year since I left but I don't have a bad memory of been in cadets. And if I could I would join up all over again and if if I had the time I would join as a civilian volunteer just to back in this place and help kids have as great memorys as I did

I have many, many happy memories of Driffield barracks from my days as an army cadet in the mid to late ‘90’s/early 2000’s. I climbed the ranks from cadet to sergeant thanks to the training I received here. As has already being said, I would do it all again given the opportunity & would love to become an adult instructor or civvie assistant at my local detachment but my ill health & family commitments sadly do not allow this. I have a young daughter (way too young to join the cadets yet!) but would actively encourage her & any other young person to join the ACF. The life skills & confidence I gained at not only Driffield but the ACF as a whole I still carry with me today. Particularly the SCIC (senior cadet instructors cadre) at Strensall with 9 cadet training team! As hard as the course was it was well worth the hard work!
