What an amazing place is St. Mary's island in the Isles of Scilly. Great walking with a landscape littered with Neolithic entrance tombs and on the North side a settlement with many houses.

Fantastic! One of my favourite places. Stunning coastline and uninhabited islands. Lots of history and wildlife. Great for walking, kayaking and swimming (you might want a wetsuit).
You have to go there to appreciate how special it is.

I booked this trip on Scillonian III then nearly backed out after watching BBCs 'Coast' where Nicholas Crane is on board the boat, but after lots of research and reading coastal waters forcasts I decided to put my brave pants on and go for it and am so pleased I did!! its a 2hr 45 min crossing but nice views and café inside. The Island is so pretty, its just a shame you don't get longer there. if I went again I would be more organised with what to do as we just pottered around shops, went to beach and lookout tower but as we came back to board boat we say leaflets for some lovely 2 hour walks which would have been perfect!!!! apparently there is beautiful café to walk to too! We were lucky with the weather and see conditions and even saw dolphins and whales and voyage back to Penzance which was awesome!!! Highly recommend day drip for £79 for family ticket was full fun day out!

My first day trip. The Scillonion 111 is beautiful and the staff are very attentive. Free WiFi. St Marys is beautiful. You will love it. Perfect for island hopping.

The Isles of Scilly is one if the best places in the UK for walking. You find a variety of landscapes, despite the fact that all the islands are quite small. And none of the walks are too long or taxing, so anyone can enjoy it. St Mary's is the biggest island and has the most walking opportunities, but I love St Agnes too. But, then, to single one out isn't fair because all five of the inhabited islands have their attractions. And all offer places along the way to pause, enjoy a drink and lap up the incredible sea views.
