Joe and his team have carried out high quality building work at our property.
Work completed
- internal wall removed
- chimney opened and supported with two lintels
- new rear door opening created
- old rear access bricked up to create a window
- ceiling removed and re-boarded
- plastering - excellent workmanship
Brickwork matched to original imperial bricks and colour matched mortar
Joe helped us to project manage the renovation and has been very helpful throughout. He is very knowledgeable and is happy to advise on how work should be completed.

Joe and his team repaired a van damaged front wall pillar, and we took the opportunity to fit coping stones on top of the wall. They did a super job on this and it looks better than before the damage.
They also repaired rendering to the rear of the house and while I was worried it might look out of line with the previous render, it looks great, they improved the water displacement and gave advice on how to prepare it for painting.
Finally, they installed a new air brick into our front room and gave us good advice on siting it so it is far less noticeable inside. Another neat and tidy finish to the render and plaster.
Overall we are delighted with the work done and Joe and his team were a pleasure to deal with. Are they the cheapest, no, but for peace of mind and a great job, we are glad we chose them. Will happily refer them to others.

I was recommended J Lyons & Co for my garden project that consisted of a full land drainage system with water pump installed into my once flooded garden. Joe and his team carried out the work to an excellent standard way above all expectations. From our initial meeting Joe kept me informed every step of the way explaining the process from start to finish and delivering over and above what I expected while bringing my project in on time and on budget. Joe gave me options throughout the whole job rather than doing what was easiest for him and his men made sure that what my wife and I wanted was paramount. Everyday the site was left clean they also took my neighbours into consideration causing them no reason to complain at all.We seriously now have a beautifully landscaped garden, emaculate 200 square foot lawn with block built flower beds fire place amazing tiled patio all exactly as we wanted all thanks to Joe and his team. I would highly recommend J Lyons for any future building work, we certainly will have Joe and team carry out any work we have done.

Joe and his team created a concrete base in my garden for a plastic shed I had purchased. Joe was reliable and excellent to deal with, and the communication was clear throughout. The work was completed to a high standard. The team even came back to touch up the base after a stray animal had left some minor footprints, which I appreciated. Would recommend and consider using again.

Joe's team rebuild the paths around our front yard allowing larger vehicles to park and easy walking. This used a good number of old paving stones and such. The areas involved include some steep gradients and old, hard concrete slabs which took some breaking. This was completed exactly as we wanted and in very good time. The old brick wall was expertly modified and nicely finished.
The team are really professional and a good laugh as well!
