We had a wonderful time last Sunday at Knepp Wilding. We started with a lovely walk (recommend that you wear wellies), followed by a delicious lunch in the Knepp kitchen restaurant and a stroll in the shop. The food was amazing. Every mouthful was delicious and both carefully and thoughtfully prepared. I love the fact that all of the ingredients are either from their own land, or sourced responsibly. The attention to detail in terms of how the companies ethos and consideration to nature and the environment was show in everything was very apparent. The staff were very friendly and attentive and I have to stay it was overall the most memorable experience. I would thoroughly recommend a visit!

Knepp Wilding Kitchen and Shop is an absolute gem, offering a fantastic combination of delicious food, beautiful surroundings, and a unique shopping experience. Located within the inspiring Knepp Estate, it’s the perfect destination for nature lovers, food enthusiasts, and those looking for something a little different.

We enjoyed a really good walk around the estate with the dog, exploring the incredible rewilded landscape. The trails are well-maintained, and there’s always the chance to spot free-roaming deer, wild ponies, and even nesting storks. It’s a wonderfully peaceful place, and the added touch of a boot wash at the end was much appreciated after a muddy adventure! The fact that it’s dog-friendly makes it even better, as our four-legged friend had just as much fun as we did.

After the walk, the Wilding Kitchen was the perfect place to refuel. The café serves exceptional food, with a strong focus on local, seasonal, and sustainable ingredients. Whether you’re after a hearty breakfast, a light lunch, or just a coffee and cake, everything is fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavour. The outdoor seating area is particularly lovely, making it a great spot to relax and take in the surroundings.

The shop is equally impressive, offering a fantastic selection of local produce, from fresh food and preserves to sustainable household items. A real highlight was the exhibition of local woodturning, showcasing beautifully handcrafted pieces that celebrate the natural beauty of the area.

All in all, Knepp Wilding Kitchen and Shop is well worth a visit – great food, a fantastic walk, a brilliant selection of local products, and a truly unique experience. Highly recommended!

What an amazing place. We had a lovely family lunch today and the service, food and the building is superb.
We had really lovely service and were very well looked after by Zee, Jamie and Tom.

It was really that good, I’ll let them off for having no Horseradish Sauce!

new favourite place!!! Beautiful surroundings, waiter was so helpful and kind, some people were complaining about the price but for the quality I would say it’s amazing!? £14 for the BEST steak sandwich I have ever had!! And the bread and butter pudding was to die for! Will be back again 🙂

Sam who served us was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. He described the walks as it was our first visit and was a perfect host. Everyone else in the restaurant seems very relaxed and friendly. Great place for lunch.

Great coffee, decent high quality food offering and lovely shop. Very impressed with the look and feel. We just stopped for a drink but will definitely give back to take a walk and maybe enjoy one of the delicious looking burgers.

Stunning shop with beautiful displays and well designed space. You must try the home grown Knepp meats (Inc steak!) and cute custom Knepp mugs! Also they sell the best kombucha in the whole of the U.K: Holos! It’s got a farm shop vibe but make it ✨luxury✨

The wilding kitchen is a spectacularly well designed space, perfect environment for full English breakfast, or a well portioned, delicious supper with many choices for diets of all kinds, using locally sourced food. Its the sort of restaurant and space I would come to every time I was in need of a coffee or a delicious meal if I lived in the country! The chef and restaurant developers are brilliant! Gorgeous outdoor space too. Shop next to restaurant has a feeling of a beautiful gallery, except that it also has very reasonably priced food and items to be purchased that have been responsibly made goods. The whole setup is perfect and I highly recommend, even if it means driving for hours! Can't wait to come back.
