I was supported by the breastfeeding team after having a baby during lockdown. Being stuck inside with a baby and toddler with very little adult interaction was hard. But I did have Koala online support groups which were invaluable to my breastfeeding journey and mental health. A year later, I became a volunteer myself and have since delivered antenatal classes, group support and online support. For the past three years I have been given regular training and supervision from the team and they do make volunteers feel incredibly valued.

I will forever be grateful to koala for helping me continue my breast feeding when i felt like i was hours away from giving up. My baby was rejecting me at 8 weeks old and i was absolutley heartbroken. I remember ringing and just breaking down while the lady on the phone just waited patiently while i sobbed. I then had a few home visits along with follow up calls. The volenteers where understanding and had lots of suggestions. But she also told me it was ok if i felt i needed to give up. She didnt make me feel guilty. Together we came up with a date that if he was still the same by then i would move to formula to protect my mental health. Happy to say he is now 13 months old and we have been feeding successfully since about 10 weeks. I honestly owe so much to Koala, the way they use their free time to support new mothers, i can never thank you enough! Xxxx

Absolute belter of a place.
I've received support from some of the loveliest people, ranging from breast feeding support to SEN support.
I recently completed an Autism Together course with Koala to help understand my daughter's needs.

Very welcoming staff who are obviously very busy in the work of improving the lives of local people. Easy to park nearby - which is very helpful if you are donating bulky stuff. Lots of interesting stock if you like browsing. A very valuable asset for the community.

Bit sad I sought out this service.
I was exhausted and feeds could have been better. They had been better. Reached out for help. Was contacted by Sara. She offered a home visit and I jumped at the chance.
She never got back in touch. Then the offer was taken back as Holli texted asking if I could come to group instead. I couldn't. It's unaccessible to me.
I formula feed. I feel I've lost something.
I gave 2 stars because I'm sure if they do come to your house they'd be able to help/if you can get to the group it sounds supportive.

Good service. Unfortunately the mental health midwife who sees patients here (Gerry Griffiths) breaks confidentiality without even telling you!. All trust in NHS lost. If I could turn back time I wouldn't even say a "hi" to this terrible woman!

I was recommended koala by the midwives for their breastfeeding support and am so grateful! Koala were quick to respond and super helpful on the phone. They sent a volunteer out for a home visit on the day! The volunteer was incredible and all the advice still stuck with me. She spent over an hour giving advice and helping, then followed up the next day with a text and sent a further volunteer in a couple of days - equally amazing. When you think you’ve heard it all the priceless advice just kept coming. Koala followed up sign a phone call after again and recommended their weekly support group.
