Went in this morning to purchase breakfast items. Was early so tills not yet operational .
As I'm on holiday I have my camera with me and took a photo of an item in the "middle at lidle" aisle.
I was then approached by a member of staff who demanded to know why I was taking photos....
I explained that I had taken only one photo of an item for sale. Decided to cancel my planned purchases and went elsewhere.

Edit:
Having received a reply from Lidl stating that they do not allow photos or videos to be taken in their stores, I suggest that they look at other reviews and pictures on Google ....

Great Lidl! Has self-service checkouts, which every Lidl should have, especially when you've only got a croissant.

The cashier was very pleasant and helpful . The variety of cheese, coffee , fruits, and veggies was very good . I couldn't locate halal meat, sausages, or chicken .

Latest edit _ 24th December. I was daft enough to buy the veggies being sold at 8p Bought them yesterday and just going through them have found that the carrots are almost completely rotten. We now buy all our fish, meat, cheese and eggs directly from farms/butchers/farm shops and this experience has decided me never again to buy such horrendous produce. Goodness knows how long you have been storing this stuff

Latest edit today Thursday 23rd May. We came in about 1pm and put our shopping through the self service tills. There was a very aggressive man on the checkout. We have not experienced anyone like this before. He was about 5 foot 7inches, heavily tattooed. He was pushing into our space and swaggering around. We felt intimidated. We have never expeienced anything like this before. If we experience this again we will not be back. I will phone to register our concern

Latest edit, I decided to do a large online shop for delivery from Tescos. I happened to be in Lidl it was not planned and decided to compare all the prices. I was very surprised to find that 90% of the items that were also stocked in Lidl were more expensive here in Lidl. I compared carefully by weight and price by size. Green olives won the day here, and that was it. Has seriously made me reconsider shopping here

I have been buying the Greek style yoghurt here for a long time. Cost £1, occasionally reduced to 90p. Imagine my shock a few weeks ago to find the price had leapt to 1.65p. I still bought it and then lo and behold today it was 1.75. No more. I am going elsewhere. Lidl is now becoming a rip off

I am editing this review after some weeks. The shop is really deteriorating. Stuff all over the isles more than ever and almost impossible to find anyone for any queries. Having visited Lidl in Wadebridge, Helston and Truro this is so not the case elsewhere why on earth is it the case here? Stuff in places very precariously stacked up and things chucked on to the shelves

We shop here all the time, often on foot though sometimes in the car. I am a big fan of Lidl, love the bakery and wine is good value. Definitely cheaper than Sainsburys though some of the branded stuff can be more expensive than say Tescos. And certain things not stocked such as fresh broad beans. And I am not a fan of the fish here. Carpark is fine. It can be very disorganised in here though with stuff blocking the isles and shelves can somtimes be empty. Staff are generally helpful though when I was recently looking for pasta and sought help from a young man whose name begins with J I was told it was stranded in Exeter due to the covid lockdowns and Brexit leading to staff shortages. A customer showed me where it was, on a shelf and not in Exeter. I mentioned my encounter to someone I saw on the self service till and she said "Oh that must be J". He made me laugh actually. Pity you cannot swap stores with Sainburys. The new store in Truro has great wide isles. PS can you stock up on the coconut alcoholic drink my partner likes. You hardly ever have it. Next time you do I may buy the lot

Bought a mower for £69.99, didn't work. Returned it to falmouth store. Would only offer £49.99 despite receipt stating full price! Told me it was fraud to give me full amount back! Had to go home, ring customer service- they now have to send a letter by snail mail for me to return items for a full refund! Ridiculous!
Won't be shopping there again!

Good food. With good prices. Sometimes, depending on what time of year, vegetarian options can be limited. Only gripe is that the self checkouts can get rammed in the evening when they don’t have anyone working on the tills. Don’t go here if you’re in a rush.
