We had our wedding at Linskill at the end of October this year. We looked at a few venues but the costs were just way out of our range. I had ideas in mind and was not afraid to DIY and gather bits and bobs together to create the vision. Linskill offered a great canvas for this.

I use Linskill regularly for different classes and we live very locally, we popped in one day to have a little look and Kerry was setting up for an event, she showed us round and we arranged to meet for coffee to discuss what Linskill could offer and our plans. Kerry was attentive and listened to our ideas to make sure that we could have the day we wanted at Linskill. We opted to have our ceremony in Burnett Hall and the rest of the day in Trevelyan Hall with access to the enclosed courtyard too.

The staff were all wonderful, and did everything they could to make our setup the day before go smoothly, created a lovely atmosphere for our guests on the day and also tidied our decor up at the end of the night too.

A special thank you to Bev, who went out of her way to make sure that as the bride I was not worrying about anything. Nothing was too big of a problem for Bev and she truly made the day that bit more special.

Honestly, we could not recommend Linskill enough, as a charity, everything they make goes straight back into the work that they do for the community.

The courtyard was safe, and great for the children (and adults) to run off any extra energy throughout the afternoon/evening. We had blankets for the outdoor booths and games which went down a hit.

The bar was reasonably priced and well stocked too, we were asked if we wanted anything specific stocked too which was great.

The decor done in the foyer area has that beautiful rustic industrial vibe which worked well with our autumnal theme and allowed space for us to welcome evening guests and have our photo & guest book area.

The big car park is a bonus for guests and no one had any problems getting parked on the day.

You have the option of renting the chair covers etc through Linskill which actually worked out cheaper than the quotes we had from elsewhere. The team worked tirelessly putting around 160 chair covers across the two rooms which we did not envy!

Honestly, we had the absolute best day and we would definitely recommend Linskill! Though the country manor style venues are beautiful, the costs are sky high and we simply could not afford this. Linskill was absolutely great, and we had so many comments about the history of the building, how beautiful it was and how much of a hidden gem the venue is.

We cannot recommend Linskill enough, I will attach some photos of our day. Thank you team, specifically Kerry and Bev! xx

My first time at the Linskill Centre. I joined Amy at her felting class. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely come back for more classes. Staff on reception were very helpful in getting me onto the mailing list for future classes. Plus I love the cafe.

We had our wedding at Linskill in October 2024. We cannot recommend it highly enough. Not only was the price very reasonable but the staff were incredibly kind, patient and attentive. A special shout out to Kerry and Bev who worked especially hard!

The food was excellent, tasty and generously sized. The halls (they have two) were excellent and allowed us a blank canvas to decorate how we wished. The bar is well stocked and reasonably priced which is a nice surprise as many venues price gouge guests.

There is a large self contained outside space with seating which was great for photographs and for kids to run energy off.

The centre is such an excellent community asset and is run as a charity which means any money spent goes back into the centre.

We would not hesitate to recommend the venue for weddings and other events.

The staff are so friendly and helpful. There are so many different activities available, so there are plenty of opportunities to try something new. I have made new friends which leads to opportunities to socialise outside of the Linskill. I would recommend going along to the centre and try something new, everyone is friendly.

This is an amazing community centre running lots of classes, talks and groups. I attend here regularly and have enjoyed every event I have been to. The staff and volunteers are all so friendly and helpful.
