Yesterday I went to the A &E department for fever and chest pain with cough, after waiting for hours, the nurse who was taking my vitals asked for the reason for visit to the hospital. I explained her the reason of visit and then she started behaving rudely and asked not to come to A & E for just fever and chest pain is common in flu.She told n numbers of things which she shouldn’t say to the patient. She became more aggressive with us. Also she said us to read on NHS website before coming to emergency department.
Does the trust allows nurses to decide whether which patient should come to A & E or is it clinician’s job to decide severity of the condition?
Horrendous experience with no care!!!!

My mother had a sudden medical issue, and they took care of her immediately. The staff was professional, caring, and kept me informed every step of the way. Thankfully, they diagnosed and treated her quickly, and she's recovering well.

Was put through to reschedule my appointment- called om the 06/03/2024 between 12:50-13:10. The operator put me through to someone and the lady who was later on the phone with me was very unprofessional, mentioned to her I would love to reschedule my appointment as it’s extremely important. She „couldn’t” find me on the system which is ridiculous cause when I called earlier there was no problem to find my details… I asked her to keep trying find me there and she was very rude and just hung up on me cause she couldn’t find me…. Luckily the call was recorded so will be investigating further with the hospital who was that person

The medical practitioners are outstanding but the administration is appalling. I have regular outpatient appointments, and I received a letter giving the date of my next one, at 11:00 on a certain date. I then got a letter stating that the appointment was cancelled and that a new one had been arranged. That was on the SAME DATE but at 11:15 - a quarter of an hour later! I have always had to wait to be seen, sometimes up to 45 minutes after the time, and that's totally reasonable - nobody can expect to be seen at exactly the time of the appointment. If I had arrived at 11:00 and been seen at 11:15, that would be excellent. So some administrator has been paid to send out this letter telling me that my appointment will be fifteen minutes later than the previous one! That's what they are spending taxpayer's money on!!! No wonder the NHS is collapsing.

I hate the system in this country. I had an appointment, and due to endless road services and congestion, I arrived at the hospital a few minutes late, heading to the disabled parking lot. There was also a severe crowding and a quarrel between two men due to the crowding. My car got stuck in traffic, and this idiot whom the state is spending money on to give him a salary is sitting in a chair. He thinks he is at home, talking on the phone and camera, putting his hand inside his pants, and does not care about anyone. It is crazy to see this backwardness and this chaos in a country like this. It's a shame.

Being an NHS staff myself, I understand the pressure and the stress, but I wouldn't say I liked the service. Staff nurses were not very professional in updating or reassuring patients about the waiting time; even doctors didn't mind doing this essential thing in updating patients. You are left in the zone of waiting without any word until when? We have a nurse who rarely checks her patient and passes by. I know it's busy, but patients are patients, and family members are patients too.. No wonder this hospital has a low star rating.
