I am disabled and was a victim of discrimination. My landlord had sent her worker to my unit, to glaze the sink, assuring me “it was safe”, and said it merely “smelt like nail polish”. She denied relocation for me and KNEW that glaze has methylene chloride which is extremely toxic. I got extremely sick! Methylene C. has been banned in several areas bc it has been known to KILL ppl. Nobody told me it was MC, until it was too late. I have severe respiratory issues and She/Kelly Knew it! The worker was immune to it, (he said) but I got REALLY sick!!
I contacted this agency for help. Alex Connelly called me. He was very nice/professional At First. But soon he began to ignore my calls and emails. Ultimately it was a HUGE waste of my time bc my “attorney” (Mr. Connelly) was not aggressive enough, not supporting me enough and ultimately my landlord and her attorney proceeded to deny having to relocate me when using toxic chemicals nor does she/Kelly have to let me know, what’s being used, hence I am still a victim of her discrimination. I will be looking elsewhere for advocacy help.
My suggestion is that you don’t WASTE YOUR TIME with this organization!

Do not waste your time with this agency. I retained them for the duration of 11 months during the 2021-2022 school year for my 2 daughters who have mental health diagnosis. They are enrolled in the Garvey school district and faced insurmountable bullying, physical attacks, etc due to their race (black) and due to their disability. The school and district ignored many reports and refused my children service s.Mental health advocacy day around for months and did nothing even while these matters continued to escalate during the time they represented me. I consistently maintained top tier communication with them to ensure they were aware of these developing matters. About 5 months after retaining them my youngest daughter (6years old) was assaulted/abused by the principal of the school causing her to be bruised for nearly 3 weeks in different parts of her arm. Mental health oddly told me not to call the police and make a report I quote Courtney Mendoza"my supervisor and I just don't think it would be helpful to inform the police...it may cause tension to rise". This made way for my child to be assaulted and abused by the same school staff one again. This company is a joke, with all the knowledge and education they have in the field I promise you they did nothing but collect payment for my children case. After representing us for 11 months we were no closer to any resolution then we were when we first retained them. They literally sat and watched all the harm being done to my children and did nothing to prevent or combat it. I understand that some issue may be outside of their scope but if you can't help then why not provide referrals to places that can help? Why sit idelly by when you see two small children being destroyed? Also the attorney assigned to us (Courtney M.) Has such a quitter spirit , clearly she has been defeatedp way too many times on the job and prefers to quit before she loses she definitely should consider a new field we're dedication and resilience is not required. They are not advocates, they just like the way it sounds.

This agency help me advocate for my 13 year old daughter who has mental health problems. Her school was refusing to give her services even though she had severe emotional, mental and academic needs. The advocate we had was very knowledgeable and supportive. That is the only way my daughter was able to obtain an IEP and get the services that she needed.

If your loved one is detained on a 5152 14-day hold, you are entitled to a probable cause hearing that has to, by law, happen within 4 days of the 14-day hold. This agency is at least a week out to get even a call back...so not much help in that case. Look elsewhere.

We are a family dealing with an emotionally disturbed teenager and are desperate for answers. We contacted them and they were a great help for us. They were able to address the questions and to provide us with the right info we are needing right now.
