My mum went for 2 weeks respite and loved it so much she asked to stay. Mum is very happy and very well cared for. The manager Claire and Sharon have been very supportive to us as a family. A big shout out to Susan and Yvonne and all the staff on Oak, thank you all for your hard work, you are all amazing. I would also like to thank the catering team for the wonderful food you create, my mum is very well fed and the food is delicious. I would totally recommend Charnwood House.

I would like to add after reading some of the other reviews that I have noticed a massive difference since the new manager Claire started and the moral of staff has greatly lifted.
I agree agency staff are not always the best & this makes it harder work for the regular workers ,but I am sure you will find in any job sector sometimes agency staff are needed.
My uncle was previously at Hawthorne House and it’s 💯 better at Charnwood again Thank you Jacqueline haughton tiffney and Rachel and all staff .

A good care home. Staff on the Beech ward looked after my late Grandmother very well. Was not able to see my Nan during the last year of her life due to lockdown and Covid but staff did their best. Good meals, great range of activities and generally most staff are very caring.

Generally a very poor care home, seems to be ran very well on first impressions, once you spend more time there cracks start to show, unfortunately i cannot go into too much detail regarding issues a family member experienced at this home as they refuse to publish negative reviews, after leaving a negative review this morning on the care homes website i had a call from the manager who couldn't remember my family member and questioned if i was sure i had the right home, considering the circumstance that happened i would have thought my Grandma would have been remembered, the manager was very dismissive concerning my complaint and gave me another number to call, unfortunately i am left with no option but to contact the CQC regarding this. My Grandma was subject to what can only be classed as abuse from the first day she entered this care home, my mother was convinced to leave my Grandma alone to settle into this home on her first day, my mother went back a few hours later to check on my Grandma to be told the carers didnt know where she was, after searching the premises my Grandma was found on the floor in the garden area with cuts and bruises on her face, this is just the beginning of the horrifying experience we had here, the staff are more interested in having conversations amongst themselves then caring for there patients, my Grandma ended up having her two front teeth broken but none of the staff members could explain to us how this had happened? Unfortunately my Grandma is no longer with us but if i can prevent one person from putting a family member in this home i feel i have succeeded.

If I could give know stars I would.. not very good management at all since being took over..clothes go missing wrong clothes in draw what ain't even me mums then letting her sit in her own urine as no one is changing the pads..poor mum so sore but no help..
