I love Misfits! I've been taking part in the Bearwood Rock Collective since last May and absolutely love it. Rod is a brilliant leader and is incredibly kind and encouraging. Plus I've made some great friends and now feel much more part of my local community. And turns out performing in public with an amazing group of people is the best fun ever!

I have been a member of the Bearwood Rock Collective since its formation. I'd been playing ukulele for around 20 years and been a frustrated would-be rocker for much longer. The rock collective presented an opportunity to play rock music with a range of people I wouldn't have otherwise met.

A relaxed, friendly atmosphere and positive support from Rob, the leader, help us learn songs surprisingly quickly. It's great fun showcasing these songs in end of term concerts in places played by 'real' rock bands.

In addition to the varied regular groups, Misfits has also provided some excellent one-off workshops! I've attended one on drumming and another on Indian music.

The regular, free workshops in support of the Brum Rocks project are also great opportunities to meet and play with other people.

My confidence has been boosted to the point that at the ripe old age of 62 I acquired my first ever guitar(s). It's very much work in progress but it's great to have had the opportunity to fulfil a lifelong ambition of playing electric guitar, to an audience, in a rock band.

I'm really looking forward to taking part in Brum Rocks this summer.

All in all, a fantastic project I am proud to be involved with.

Moseley misfits is a warm and welcoming friendly group of people who want to play music together. Reuben and Rob are talented musicians and composers and patiently take us through our pieces with light humour. Highly recommend anyone who wants to pick up and dust off their old instruments to come along, no matter what your ability is. Love this group of musical misfits!!
