13 weeks pregnant I went to south Nassau to be treated for chest pains, body aches, fever and bad cough. Thinking possibly I have RSV or pneumonia I didn’t want to take any chances. I checked in @ 4pm. By the way the front desk reps weren’t friendly and neither really was the RNs that took my vitals. That was the furthest I got. I had to go ask for Tylenol. My fever was 101.6 since I got there. Seeing the time was about to be 8:30 pm i went to the desk to check to check how much longer it would be. The new person at the desk with no kind of empathy tells me the doctor was looking to discharge me. At this point im livid and didn’t want to cause a scene so I left. Never again will I go to the hospital for anything. I will be filing a formal complaint as well.

If I could do 0 stars I would with no doubt, I brought my daughter in because an ultrasound found a mass in her abdomen and during the weekend she started feeling pain. I was waiting in the waiting room for over an hour and a half. Get called in and then proceeded to wait another 3 and a half hours in the hallway. In these 5 hours of waiting my daughter did not get an iv did not get any medication for her pain, did not get any blood work done. Not even a dr come up to her and ask how she’s doing. 5 hours later I finally ask someone if she ever going to get seen or if I should just go and a dr magically appears. Tells her that they need to repeat the ultrasound so they need her to go pee just to find out that now they need her to have a full bladder. So now I sit here for an extra 2 hours and then most likely they are going to want a ct scan which the nurse very kindly tells me would be an extra 3 hours just to get the results. This hospital is beyond a joke and just know that if your coming here or more importantly bringing your child here your gonna need at least 2 days to get any results or care!!!!!!!

I came to ER with severe pain in my back, lumbar and cervical. I am so far blown away by the entire experience and the staff.
My first contact was with an amazing lady that registered and took care of my needs immediately. She even assisted me to the restroom and then finished my paperwork it was a great first impression.
My room E2 #2709w is clean and staff is in and out to make sure I am comfortable and safe.
Professional staff and compassionate care and very supportive staff (teamwork is key)
So far I am very impressed with the quality and professionalism that I am receiving.
I will update this experience after my surgery tomorrow.

They were useless. Went in there with chest pains. Had me in the waiting room til I actually went into shock! They had no clue what they were doing once I got onto a floor. They didn’t even notice I was brought into the room after a heart attack. I rang bell 12x before someone came. They couldn’t confirm my meds for many hrs. The food sucked. Don’t go there

South Nassau has one incredible doctor, Dr Ferguson, the head of pediatric emergency. Everyone else is absolutely awful. I’d actually go so far as to say that the emergency room staff is racist and the charge nurses discriminate on who has access to emergency care and who gets seen first and who has to wait. Of course in an emergency room the biggest emergencies are priority, but when the entire ER of patients sitting quietly, not bleeding out, all get cleared out, 3 times over, while your two year old screams coughs and vomits on themselves and all they offer is a bin for you to catch the vomit over the course of a five hour wait well into the middle of the night, you begin to get curious about what they categorize as an emergency. One good doctor can not rehabilitate a horribly run medical system. Which, to that point has gotten 10x worse since acquired by Mt. Sinai.

Staff: Can be nice, but come off lazy. They have a button for patients to click for help from nurses or aids, however took them a while to act upon it or even acknowledge it.

My father was here for 3 weeks. One nurse that stood out was Emily, she was great at communicating and updating me with his medical health.

I have been a patient at this hospital since the birth of my first child 8 years ago, and all three of my babies were born here. Most recently, I underwent gallbladder removal surgery. The registration process, which took around 40 minutes, was challenging for me as I was experiencing significant pain and vomiting in the waiting room. However, once I was registered, the ER staff demonstrated efficiency and consistency in their care.

After the initial assessment, I was moved to a quiet room where all the nurses provided exceptional care. Subsequently, I was transferred to F1 to await surgery, and the staff in that area also showed great professionalism and support.

Despite the overall positive experience, I was disappointed that none of the doctors came to check on me after my surgery. I had to rely on the nurses to relay my questions to the medical team, leading to delays and a sense of disconnect in communication. It felt like a constant back-and-forth between the nurses and the doctors, which was less than ideal.

While I appreciate the excellent care provided by the nursing staff, I believe there is a need for improvement in post-surgery follow-up and direct communication with the medical team.

The maternity floor is a mess. I've been there for my dad being hospitalized and my bf. The workers don't come in to check on the patients at all. It's really sad tbh for those who don't always have family to come in and check on them and the workers have attitudes. They had my bf just sitting there for 2 days and didn't change his bed and urine sitting in a bottle for how ever long until I showed up. It's sad you have to be there to get something done for workers to do their job. I wouldn't recommend this hospital to anyone. Do your job period
