There's something for everyone - adults and youngsters. Choirs for all abilities in different locations and one auditioned choir. Also bands, orchestras, occasional courses for singers and instrumentalists, and lots of music for wellbeing.
Singing in MfE's auditioned choir - Nottingham Chamber Singers - is the highlight of my week! 35 friends making high-quality music together, with two amazing musical directors.

Only have experience of the "Blow the Dust" off instrument days.

I don't know why it's changed but they don't seem very inclusive these days - as seems filled with 'expert' players playing pieces that are, at the very least, a grade 6 level- in 4th, 5th 6th , 7th positions, .....and also the price went up a great deal.

The play days are advertised for "grade two and above".... that really needs revising .....I left feeling bewildered and demotivated as the expectation and standards are too high for an occasional play day......lot of pointed glares if someone hits the wrong note or bows in the wrong direction .

It's meant to be fun like it used to be butit feels pretentious now...a lot of people were complaining that it feels unwelcoming and elitist. Don't think I'll be returning
