A BIG THANK YOU TO RACHEL AND HER WHOLE TEAM!
Thanks for saving me from an abusive environment in where my sister used to make me feel down as I am a gay person! It was last year when My University refer my name to "My Sister's place ". And after knowing all the circumstances , I agreed to move myself to a safe place with the help of Rachel and Middlesbrough Council. Though I knew that It's a charity worked only for women and girls. But Crossing the border, " My Sister's Place " helped me to flee from this abusive environment and an obvious forced marriage.
Thanks Rachel. You are a true sunshine in my life. I believe in Karma! You have done good and great things for me.

I used to have a very high opinion of this service until today when I called them for some advice and the lady on reception refused to even listen to me speak. She just kept talking over me and saying she couldn’t take details of another person. I never once said I wanted to give her anybody else’s details- I just wanted some basic advice so that I knew what I could do to support a relative. I feel completely let down by what used to be an excellent service for women. Perhaps they ought to let people speak and explain what they are calling for before making assumptions and cutting them off.

I was put in touch with my sister's place when I turned up where they are based with no where to live. I had no money or food and they dumped me in what can only be described as a hole. They gave me a list of food banks with no information or directions on how to actually get there or obtain food to see me through till I got my stuff sorted. I felt completely isolated in an area where I had no connections which allowed the woman I was living with to take advantage of me and steal 30 pound of my money to supplement her drug habit. They were happy in the knowledge I had no money food or even medication for 6days with no help support or even a follow up visit to make sure you were settling in and ok. Bearing in mind been from West Yorkshire and not having anyone to help. Would class this as an absolute joke of a service, should not be used

They might seem like they want to help but I'm being watched and harassed by them I feel more controlled by them than anyone else has made me feel. I feel my life is not my own they made me homeless because my ex found where I lived and I was in they property. they give me 5 days notice to leave and I had given up my secure council flat because of promises they had made. If you are in a refuge they let themselves in if you don't answer and switch lights on. You have no privacy at all. They constantly text to see where I am and if you don't text back they get the police to do a welfare check. I wish I never opened up to them my life has never been so bad because of them all I wanted was to be left alone and live in peace. Think twice before going to harbour or police or my sisters place if there is any way you can try to sort yourself out do it on your own or ask friends and family or people you definitely trust these people DO NOT care.

Id give this service 5*, been going on a wkly basis for past 9 mths for trauma counselling, and there really help you to understand how yr illness can affect yr mental health. Id recommend this service to everyone who is struggling with a mental health disorder, who just talk threw yr issues x help you to understand why we act the way we do x how trauma can effect yr everyday situations. Great staff x a truely life changing service.

I love this store! The merchandise is always in season and very affordable. Donna is friendly and very helpful, the ladies who work there are all nice. Shopping at My Sister's Place is a fun experience!

It was my first time going in the other day and I was a little nervous but I can honestly say they are lovely people who do fantastic work, they really put my mind at rest and helped me.
