Such a beautiful place. You can wander for miles in peace and tranquility and finish off with tea and cake. There are different trails you can go on, walled gardens and of course, the deer🦌. The café serves hot and cold food, sandwiches, cakes etc. It's not cheap but they never are at these sorts of places. Dogs are welcome but must be on a lead at all times. It's one of those places you can return to frequently and find something new.

So much to see and lovely walks through the woodlands. The house is stunning with several surprises. I wish we had booked a tour though, as we didn't see any of the upstairs rooms. The historic stables are worth a visit and the courtyard offers plenty of seating in the sun and in the shade.

Definitely one for a second visit booking in advance.

Brilliant
Beautiful house and the volunteer guides I spoke to were absolutely amazing they were so enthusiastic about the house and it's history, many were dressed in period costume. The rooms that are open to the public are stunning. Of equal interest are the downstairs rooms including one of the kitchens, butlers pantry etc.
The extensive grounds have excellent footpaths, the huge walled garden is also worth a visit. Allow a good few hours for your visit

Another beautifully maintained National Trust property with so many things to see and do. Wonderful parkland walks, a walled garden, a second hand bookshop and shop with a cafe serving a variety of cakes, snacks and drinks which is just what you come to expect from a NT site of this size.
We had the opportunity to visit over the festive period and to experience the mansion in all its Christmas glory, a simply wonderful display!

Another fantastic NT property. We visited June 2024. A first visit, we loved it. So much to see. The grounds are amazing. Usual facilities onsite. Family friendly. Not sure about dogs as I didn't see any.

Attingham has never been on my list of places to visit although it's pretty much in the doorstep. However after a visit to a large and well known stately pile in Derbyshire, and recommendations from friends, I thought it'd be interesting to compare the two.

So armed with a newly acquired National Trust membership, off we trotted.

The house itself is not large (in mansion house terms at least) however the rooms that are on display provide a view of a variety of purposes, enough to give a real taste of how the house was used in it's heyday.

The information cards on display at the time of my visit had a strong Christmas element. Not surprising really, and each room was decorated with a (real) Christmas tree to reflect the theme if the room.

The volunteers in each room are friendly, and clearly knowledgeable; obviously keen to impart their knowledge. However, for the shyer visitors, detailed information cards are also available in stands in most of the rooms. For me the summary cards were sufficient, at least for my first visit.

After exiting the house, we were able to take a short stroll which took us to the walled garden. Whilst the garden is to allotments and purposes in hibernation at this time of year, nonetheless it gave me promises of further interesting visits in the summer, and making good use of my new NT membership.

Bright sunny frosty day and we decided to go there. It was well worth it as the walk in the grounds was very refreshing. Also bought some spring flowering pots. Icing on the cake was blanket of snow drops (flowers)

Beautiful grounds with well signed walking routes and well maintained amenities. Plenty of parking spaces and an historic manor house to explore if that's your thing. The herd of deer and cows are nice to see strolling around too.
