Beautiful gardens and grounds - especially the walled garden which has a lovely selection of flowers, fruit trees and vegetables. There were some seasonal displays of pumpkins that looked very effective and colourful. The house, what you can see of it, is delightful - but quite limited. It'll be good to have more rooms to view when the renovations are completed. The shop sells nice items, some of them are locally sourced, together with some beautiful Christmas cards. Well worth a visit- it's got a wonderful, peaceful vibe.

It was a lovely day out with the family. The house has been decorated for Christmas, and it looks lovely. The volunteers are very knowledgeable and willing to tell you all about the house and former residents. A great deal of time and effort has been put in to make this venue well worth a visit. Well done.
The cafe was a bit of a letdown. The serving area is very cramped, meaning you have to queue outside at busy times, and it was very cold on the day we visited. The seating area is fine apart from the access door, which opens outward, very difficult to open when carrying a tray full of food and drink.

Booked a slot to see the house decorated for Christmas, very impressive trees and liked the different themes per room . The restaurant was too busy for us , shame they don’t have just a kiosk to get hot drinks like most places have these days .

I have a membership, that's why I come here very often. Hinton Ampner is a place where everything is wonderful regardless of the season or weather. A beautiful House, often decorated for special events or holidays, a park area with a pond and water lilies in it, flower beds that attract our attention, ordinary, but so necessary for us, vegetable gardens - everything is wonderful here.

This was one of the best National Trust sites we have visited. The house was very interesting, staffed by knowledgeable guides. The gardens were genuinely stunning, while the cafe provided a good selection of light lunches, cakes and drinks. We'll definitely be visiting again soon!

I visited the property with my National Trust membership card. They decorated with pumpkins for the fall season and it was beautiful. The house was only open downstairs because they were doing some restoration upstairs. But it is a beautiful house. The gardens are spacious and there’re plenty of space to have a walk.

What a great house in the National Trust collection. Although it was a rainy/overcast day, we really enjoyed the house, and greatly appreciated the knowledgeable people within the house, that told us so much of the history. An upside too, was being able to walk around the rooms, unlike so many other places. Well worth a visit.

Lovely walled garden and other lawns and borders.

The house is well equipped with interesting furniture and artefacts. You are free to tour at your own pace but volunteer guides are on hand to answer questions.

Cafe okay but a limited range of warm food that is not well advertised.
