The Speakers Club is an incredible space for anyone looking to improve their public speaking skills. When I first joined, I was nervous about speaking in front of an audience, but the support and positive atmosphere here made all the difference. The people here are so encouraging and inspiring, and they have helped me grow so much in confidence and ability.

It’s amazing to have such a wonderful community right here in Nottingham. I am truly grateful for this club and the opportunities it provides. If you are looking to develop your commutation skills, make friends, and grow in a welcoming and uplifting environment, this is the place to be.

Presenting at work used to make me nervous, but joining this speaking club has been a game changer. I couldn’t have chosen a more friendly, welcoming, and diverse group. The positive atmosphere makes it so much easier to overcome the challenges of connecting with an audience. The topics sessions are not only great fun but also an incredible way to think on your feet. Watching others’ creative approaches has given me fresh ideas and strategies to try myself.

This club has been genuinely lifechanging for me. I joined a few years ago because I was terrified of speaking in front of even very small groups. It was affecting my education and career, and I was considering all options including counselling, medication and hypnotherapy! The club was extremely welcoming and built my confidence bit by bit through gradual exposure and strong peer support. After a while I even managed to present a session at a work conference of over 100 people. It's an extremely inclusive, supportive, encouraging group and it's also really interesting and enjoyable to attend and hear others present about things they are passionate about. Highly recommended, and a fraction of the cost of private therapy!

I was a member of the Nottingham Speakers Club for several years. I felt extremely nervous on my first visit, but soon the members put me to ease. They helped me to overcome my fears and build up my confidence in speaking skills. I soon developed the ability to speak in public, whether this be a social event, with family and friends, a wedding, or a church event. It was great to meet with other people who were very friendly and helpful. If you join this club you will be supported by people willing to help you break through barriers of fear, build up your speaking skills and confidence.
It is a friendly and supportive club of beginners, and experienced speakers of different race and cultures. Here you get the chance to write your speech, deliver it, have it evaluated in a calm and peaceful environment. People even develop their abilities, in doing interviews, speaking at weddings as best man and father of the bride. Why not come and join us at this unique club that can help you in your public speaking roles, it is a safe and warm environment. If you are afraid to stand and speak before strangers you will learn from others delivering their speech, gain competitive edge in your career and speaking ability. Meetings comprised of some prepared speeches as well as impromptu speaking topics, feedback and evaluation sessions.
I received The ASC Certificate of Achievement as an accomplished speaker, signed by the National President and the National Education Director, of which I am immensely proud. A wonderful group of people from diverse backgrounds all with different reasons for attending at first, with many people being part of the club for years. Attending the club you can expect to be rewarded with many benefits, not just improving public speaking. Inevitably you will pick up a wealth of knowledge on the infinite subject matters other speakers have chosen, it's also extremely rewarding to be part of a supportive group, including experts in the field of public speaking along with leading professionals and academics. Nottingham Speakers club is at the heart an inclusive, progressive and empowering group where all are welcome, whatever your reason, building confidence, improving presentation skills, delivering a wedding speech or eulogy...as one fellow Notts Speaker once said to me "what else would you do on a Thursday night, sit and watch telly?!".

This is such a friendly and supportive club that any first time nerves about attending for the first time are soon settled.
Your confidence builds up slowly, sometimes without noticing, in a fun and supportive atmosphere.
You’ll never be put on the spot and can participate as much or as little as you are comfortable with. Everything is at your own pace. I would encourage anyone who feels anxious about speaking in public to give this club a go. You’ll be glad you did!
