Ocean Youth Trust South is a charity. That's why the prices are very reasonable . This attracts people, but be careful! Especially if you are unlucky enough not to be a UK , American, or EU citizen, because the charity does not care that foreighners need a visa rather than a valid passport to go to the EU. And they won't warn you about that. That's your obligation to get it, but usually you do not know their route and you get no idea that you need a visa. The rules allow them to cancel participation when you have already paid (a month ago) for any reason and not to refund anything or at least you'll loose 50 pounds - their administrative charge. The money for airplane tickets, UK visa and bus tickets are not refunded of course at all . They do not agree that the fault is theirs, because they do not provide full information about the route of the voyage. You get just the port of departure and the port of final arrival - both in the UK . You know that you need to get a UK visa ,of course , to come to the country . But you do not know, attention, please, that you need a Schengen visa (not just a valid passport as it is written on their sight and which you do have to come to the country) to take part in the voyage, because they won't let you onboard as you won't be able to disembark in case of illness in France or somewhere else and originally you have no idea where and when they 'll go and disembark - no planning in advance. Finally you try to get a last minute visa but they say in a week before the departure when you still have a chance to get a visa: sorry, you postpone our insurance procedure and our voyage, you have to cancel, we are not obliged but we'll refund you the money you've paid for the voyage. You surrender and agree to cancel, forget about the money you've paid for the tickets (which is more than the cost of the voyage). You'll have to change the ticket (if it is possible) or loose all the money. But when you receive the money it it at least 50 pounds less than you paid 2 months ago (forget about the difference in exchange rate between pounds and your currency ). " Outstanding" generosity, isn't!? Then it occurs to you that maybe it is some kind of tricky way to raise money for this charity - to cancel some participants, sell their places for the second time (as they admit) and get extra 50 pounds from each cancelled client. 14 participants for 16-22July 2019 voyage multiplied by 50 equals 700- a pretty good sum of money, it is enough to accommodate someone else onboard too. But I do participate in different charities but nobody forces me to do that and I do really have enough people in my country to help
