It’s been a good no great six months since I nervously showed up at Oldham Cats and explained I love cats but have never lived with one before. The staff were so friendly and just said “do you want to meet some cats?” Which anyone who knows me will know that’s all I ever want to do.

There I met my best friend Aleena. A loving a fun kitten turning into an adult cat who was 1 year old at the time I met her. I was told she had just had some kittens of her very own, which I got to meet!

They needed to keep her for a little while whilst she recovered from having kittens and then be spayed so she didn’t smuggle some extras into my house as a Trojan cat.

They really helped me get set up. Gave me some litter, and food. Medication for her post surgery and told me their vet. If they are good enough for the place that cares for cats then they are good enough for me.

In the last 6 months she has settled into the home, and can be frequently be seen roaming the neighbourhood playing with the other local cats.

I would love to get more cats and if I do then Oldham Ca is absolutely the first place I would go.

Situated near Middleton, this place is excellent. I've adopted all except One of my furry friends from here and I'd take all of their Cats if I could. You don't need an appointment, just turn up between 1100-1500 everyday except Tuesday. All the volunteer staff are extremely friendly, knowledgeable, fully trained and will drop whatever they're doing to give you a guided tour of their guests. Ask any questions, you can also have some 'meet and greet' with your chosen Cat if you so choose to do. As said, it's run by volunteers and all their Cats are looked after to within an inch of their pretty little whiskers. You will more than likely leave with your forever friend. Please pay them a visit, Oldham Cats Rescue is an oasis.

Once again, the treatment of the animals is top class, and the kittens we adopted are both in wonderful health.
You can tell how every single one of the volunteers has so much love for the cats.

The staff here are absolutely lovely and they really really care about the cats they rescue. I adopted a cat called Joe from here a month ago and they've been nothing but helpful and so lovely! They've really given him an amazing start to a new happy forever home - thank you for everything ☺️.

If you're looking to give a kitty a happy and loving forever home, I definitely recommend going and seeing the cats they have! I was looking for a chilled out indoor cat that would get on with other cats as I already have a quiet one, so I went to visit them and fell in love with a cat and took him home. He was timid and shy but he's become such a confident loving boy! He follows me everywhere and loves a fuss. The cats are in really good hands with these guys and they really commit to making sure they're happy and healthy. Definitely recommend!
