Swimming lessons for my 6 year old cost just over 28 pounds which works out approx 7ish pounds per session for half an hour of swimming once a week
In reality, they get about 15 minutes of water time as the session finishes a few minutes early and they do this thing where the children line up and take individual turns diving into the pool-so they're stood in a line half the time.
When they're all in the water, they're stuck in a small corner of the pool with barely enough space between them as they line up underwater in the pool.

I understand now why people were telling me to go to SWIM! instead on Manchester Road

Fantastic venue! We used this for the street comp, a stones throw from the bus station and a huge carpark next to the centre it's perfect for the commute by public transport or your own, we had the mini bus outside , it was a brill day and the hall was perfect for what we needed.

1 star for the parking at Oldham Leisure Centre
I have only recently booked sessions at Oldham Leisure Centre and have been impressed with the staff and the facilities within the Centre. However the parking facilities are appalling.
Today 17/1/24 10:00 I circled the whole car park, negotiating parked cars (not in bays and cars waiting for a parking spot), four times nothing. I went out and retried again nothing. This second time I found myself in a queue of about seven, maybe more, cars which were not able to move as the incoming traffic was blocking the exit traffic. Absolute mess and could be quite dangerous.
On a previous visit, when I managed a parking spot (lucky me) I witnessed two sets of couples leaving their car and walking up the hill to the centre of Oldham I have also been made aware that the college, over the road, use the parking facilities also? I would be interested if the management team are aware of the above and if something is being done and when to rectify the problem.
My experience today left me parking up on a side street, ringing the Centre and having to cancel my session which I so enjoyed the previous week.
I do hope that I don't get a "you did not attend your session" email, which I have on a previous occasion when had to cancel on line due to sickness (apparently I was not in the timeframe required by the gym). I found some of email wording (as have my fellow session buddies) quite strong to say the least.

When a gym machine or equipment is broken, it's takes months to repair or replace. Very poor as it should be done within days. For example the barbell bench press bench has not been repaired for months and has been out of use for months! There's no music being played either to get a pump, just boring news.
The wooden sauna benches have years of grime and sweat stuck in between the gaps. It needs a proper jet wash clean but they only use a water hose that doesn't have sufficient water pressure to remove the grime. Proper nasty.
The swimming changing rooms have dust and get a yearly clean only.
The showers either don't work or have little water pressure. Only one has good water pressure and the remaining need work. It's been like this for months!
The OLC app is weird as it doesn't show the correct timetables. For example if you select gym times, it shows cardio class times.
Most of the staff are good and helpful though. Overall nice and spacious inside but needs a bigger car park or to bring in parking validation to stop non gym goers using it.

New system what difference does it make? If the sauna is room temp? And what maintenance did they do whilst closed, half of the showers had freezing water!

It was my first time here, the doctors had asked me to go on a health and wellbeing session. The lady I spoke to was very helpful and gave good advice.

Friendly staff and users, very warming atmosphere everybody ready to help if you need, I've been using it for few months now. Should have come years ago but hesitated and now only come since the doctor ordered but I should have come decades ago for my health I recommend anyone and everyone to join a gym and get your health in order
