Made a self referral via the website. That went well without issues. Was given an email confirmation that it had been received. Got a telephone appointment a couple of weeks after that to discuss in more detail. The practitioner was helpful and patient and patiently waited for my son to speak, as he was reluctant to engage. Was offered a face to face appointment at Northpoint. Had a fantastic experience with a skillful therapist. Brought a game in to relax my son. Carefully helped him recognise his difficulties and what we would like to work on.
Very pleased with the speed of service and how my son and myself have been cared for.

I called up open minds back in June 2022 and they were so helpful I went in the same day and had a 1-1 with Jonathan (counsellor) and I’ve had lots of counselling over the years and nobody could really figure out what the problem was. I got more from that hour with him than I ever have in the past and knew that’s where I wanted to begin my recovery! When I went in the day after I met 1 of the house managers who I got on with straight away he made me feel totally at ease. The thing I love about open minds is they have all gone through open minds themselves and follow the same 12 step programme I follow today, so they talk from experience not just books. Everybody there was really lovely and I felt at home for the time I was there! I’m still in close contact with a lot of them today and they still help me more than they know! the after care is amazing, anytime I call or text I get a reply within minutes. I’m 2 years clean thanks to open minds it’s really changed my life and I couldn’t do it without any of them and can’t thank them enough for what they have given me. I’ve always known how to survive as an addict but open minds have taught me how to live.

Very poor service! Referral been made to them by GP for my child. Had a phone call from women that didn’t ask a single question and told me to go elsewhere. After explaining she said they will refer again, said she will send email to confirm- no email received. 2 days after case closed and said they not taking it. What is this place for if it’s clearly not helping anyone at all. Don’t deserve one star even. Don’t waste your time on them

Very poor service, we'd heard poor reviews from other parents previously. We tried to refer our son but open minds closed the referral because the school didn't respond to them, surely this is not a valid reason & we are very disappointed with this organisation. This organisation needs reviewing.

Terrible so called service. Not really sure why they exist because at all the NAS and Unique Ways coffee mornings I attend, I never seem to come across anyone they have actually helped.
