I visited Ormskirk library last week as part of my Community Liaison role at Alcedo Care which aims to enable clients and carers understand and access services available in our local communities.

The library is a warm, buzzing hive of activity. I spoke with Elizabeth Russ who is a credit to the library, and knows its service offering really well. When I visited, there was a "Knit and Natter" group taking place which is just one of many activities hosted by the library.

I really liked the variety of options available to ensure that the whole community, regardless of age, health, and location can access the services. The options include the traditional library, mobile library, book delivery and free subscriptions to Borrow Box and Press Reader apps which enable users to access audio books, and national newspapers and magazines.

I am really looking forward to visiting them again for World Book day!

Lovely staff, very helpful. Computers at hand to use and places to work at tables with powerpoints and WiFi.
Social groups also available, enquire within (eg reading, writing,craft, back to work, adult learning etc)
If you can't see the book you want you can order it.

Lots of books to choose from or can be ordered from another library. Up to date computers and lots of extra table space. Calm atmosphere. Staff are very pleasant and go the extra mile.

Great place to visit, apart from books of course, there are computers for internet access and you can use your mobile device on the free WiFi. Tables by the windows are especially good for reading at. There are many activities run for different ages from toddler time to a Scrabble Group.
