Horrible car park, stayed for just a few minutes to get a vaccination for my newborn son at Boathouse surgery, whose car park was full, partner stayed in car but still got fined due to numberplate technology. Shame on you for not being clearer.

Great chip shop under the arches

Attended Pangbourne Working Mens Club for a first aid course over a weekend. This was for a voluntary position I hold in the local community.

Whilst the hall was fine and the course excellent, the same can't be said for the parking facilities.

My partner picked me up from the course and waited in the carpark for just under 15 minutes for me to finish and leave. As the car park had plenty of spaces and I was due out imminently, she didn't see any need to leave the car or get a ticket.

A few days later we were hit with an extortionate £100 parking charge.

I appreciate this is private land with a pay and display car park. However £100 is clearly disproportional for waiting in a car park for 10-15 minutes.

Great selection of drinks and nibbles, at very low prices for the area; never had a bad pint of beet or lager here! Really pleasant sitting in the garden, watching the world go by. Plenty of club activities throughout the week, live music, TV sport, etc... a real community hub all year round.

Car park review only - if you park here make sure you don't overstay at all!!! They use number plate recognition and you will be fined at least £100. No doubt the club is making more from parking fines than the beer....

Can I just say a big thank you to the Pangbourne Club who were open today so that locals could visit and see the funeral on their big screens. in likeminded company. I am not a member but we were welcomed warmly by staff. Apart from the screening there was free coffee beforehand and sandwiches etc after. Just like a real wake. I was also very impressed by the buildings and facilities - not what I expected at all from a so-called working mens' club. Also impressed by the events. So much so that we are now thinking of becoming members. Thanks again and what a lovely thing to have done for the village.
