Had Sunday lunch here. The food and service were excellent. They had background music playing which is not really to my taste when eating, but this wasn’t overly intrusive and I know lots of places do this. Three meats for the roast, all well cooked and served with plenty of vegetables. Portion size is generous

Brand new review. This place is under new management and it shows. Great bar service that is efficient and cheerful. Good food at reasonable prices and a really nice atmosphere. A bit quiet at the moment but I'm sure that will change.

We were a large group who had pre ordered food but still had to wait over an hour for food to arrive, only 1 barmaid on who was doing drinks, taking food orders on tables and serving the food only calm person there. Food was ok the pie was good but the small fries not hot.

We had organised a family birthday meal, it was a big group of us - 16 people. We had pre-ordered our food prior to coming, even though the staff were very welcoming and friendly unfortunately we got let down with the food. Three meals had been missed even with pre ordering, this resulting in a longer wait to the point one of our family members didn't even eat as the food took that long. A piece of plastic was found in another family members plate of food, resulting in that being taken away.
Overall the food wasn't the best, not very impressed with the quality unfortunately.

Can not fault the staff and the atmosphere, would return for a drink but not for the food.

I was deeply disappointed and appalled to discover that this pub actively supports and hosts events linked to illegal fox hunting. By facilitating and fundraising for the continuation of this cruel and barbaric practice, they are complicit in the torture of foxes and the promotion of trophy hunting. This is disgraceful, and they should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

We visited on Monday 12th August around 3.30pm, We was greeted as soon as we walked in and offered a table (table 12) The pub was quiet when we arrived, it is a nice , comfortable, country pub. we ordered a drink and had a look through the menu. My wife ordered the smothered chicken and i opted for the rosemary & buttermilk coated chicken burger, the meals arrived in a reasonable time and were presented very well, food tasted great and a decent portion too. Staff checked back to ensure everything was ok with our meals.
We ordered coffees and 4 mini puds to share which consisted of baileys profiteroles, chocolate brownie cheesecake, bread & butter pudding fingers and chocolate salted caramel torte served with a little bowl of hot custard to dip the bread & butter fingers in. WOW!! what an amazing sweet treat this was 🙂
Went to the bar to pay the Bill and got 50% off the main meals as they have a promotion on until September so this made the visit even better 😉
Might try and get back again before the promotion ends and try some more of their appetising menu.
