The manager at this place named Homayun is the most disrespectful person I’ve ever met at an Argos store. I went to return Apple headphones which were within the 30 days and still SEALED in their original packaging but he refused and said I looked like someone who would try to return a fake item to scam Argos (I was wearing a long black Uniqlo jacket and tracksuit bottoms) I asked him what he meant by that and he started to rant and said HIS store return policy is different from the online and every other store return policy as he decides what HIS return policy is. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing so I left the shop.

I tried to order a home collection through live chat because it was a home delivery items but apparently Argos doesn’t allow it for Apple products ( which is stated absolutely NOWHERE on their site) I then explained why I chose this route as the store manager I went to was incredibly rude and they told me to show them this chat which explained the return policy for Argos stores and that he can’t just decide when to honour it.

Hesitantly I returned to the store hoping someone else would serve me but unfortunately Homayun was the only one there again but this time I was in my work uniform and when I approached he was MUCH nicer at the start. I guess this was because I was dressed better for his standards but the nice act was quickly dropped when I told him I was there to return headphones and he remembered who I was.

To avoid having an argument with him I just showed him the chat log of the live chat I had with Argos and asked to just refund me so I could leave, he said he had to call the home delivery team to process it, while he was on the phone he said he would inspect the box now to make sure it was still sealed, but all of a sudden he said to the person on the phone he doesn’t think the box is sealed and then started to PULLING THE SECURITY SEAL ON THE BOX, I asked him what he was doing and immediately brought out my phone to record. He said the box wasn’t sealed and I was lying but when he saw my phone he immediately stopped and started started push the security tab down back into place and continued to talk with the person on the phone, when he finished on the phone he said I couldn’t record him, I told him until the item is returned it is still technically my property so I had to to document what he was doing with my property. I told him I only managed to capture him tampering with security seal and putting it back into place when he got caught but I would delete the video after he processed my return and he finally conceded and started to process the return.

He did drag his heels and made sure to take as much time as possible but did do it in the end.

I can see from other reviews that I’m not the first person to have to have the displeasure of speaking to this manager which surprises me as to how he’s still employed there. In any case I hope I never have to cross paths with Homayun again under any circumstances in any lifetime

Went into store this past Friday 14th to collect an item I had ordered for a valentines gift for my partner, an Apple Watch series 10. Arrived at the store at around 9am and waited about 10 minutes while the lady at the desk processed a return for a gentleman’s microwave, which she thoroughly inspected and took out of the box (keep this in mind) whilst a queue of people built up. Absolutely shocking that most of the time they only have one person working here at a time. I received my item and gave the gift to my partner at around 4:30 that afternoon, upon opening it he noticed that it was not in fact an Apple Watch in the box, but a rose chrome coloured fit bit! I returned to the store immediately, arriving at around 5pm and was met by a gentleman who claimed to be a manager. And I say claimed because the way he dealt with this was absolutely subpar. Obviously, I was very unhappy with the situation and the man working there at the time asked me if it was sealed when we opened it, to which I replied that yes it was. He then told me that because it’s sealed, there would be nothing he can do because that would be a manufacturer error but he will check if it had been returned. He ran the check and saw that it had been returned, so what was the point of giving me all that spiel about if it was sealed there was nothing they could do? They were able to give me my money back however they had no more Apple Watches in stock, I had to ask HIM where the nearest branch was that had it in stock and inconveniently go out of my way to get it. I am absolutely horrified that the store are selling fraudulent items and aren’t diligent enough to check returns thoroughly before reselling, as they are clearly supposed to do considering the lady in the morning spent about what felt like 100 hours checking a microwave. The man I dealt with had no empathy and struggled to understand my rightful emotions, I was offered nothing more than an ā€œoopsā€, whether in his power or not this should’ve been escalated to satisfy me as a customer, all I asked for was a simple follow up explanation as to how this had happened. Instead of celebrating Valentine’s Day at our spa hotel, we had to deal with this situation and drive 40 minutes back to rectify this. I will be avoiding this store the next time I use Argos, absolute rubbish.

I placed the order online and got confirmation messages saying that my order should be ready to collect from 4pm same day. Everything will be great if the shop will be open. What a waste of time and money as I get to the shop and I couldn’t collect my order because they are open till 4pm . So clearly Argos lying they customers that shouldn’t be allowed if I will know it I wouldn’t waste my time and money.

I travelled to the store to claim my warranty on a Tower Vacuum that had a manufacturing issue. I had been in contact with the very helpful team at Tower and they advised me that because the product wasn’t a year old that it is the retailer’s responsibility to replace the product. I had a email from Tower explaining all of the above and was told to present this to the store and they would replace my item.

However upon entering the store and speaking to the manager he was very hostile and was trying to gaslight me into believing that they would not replace the item because I had damaged it. I presented more evidence to him from Tower, to reassure him that they have claimed fault on the product and not me. He rudely refused to help me.

As I had been in conversation with Tower that morning I called them back to explain that the retailer was refusing to replace my product. The lady on the phone asked to speak to the store manager as it was an issue she had never encountered. After trying to reassure the store manager that i wasn’t at fault for the break in the product for several minutes. The manger was still refusing to replace the item. It even went as far as the lady on the phone from Tower reciting the law to him. Which states-Under the Consumer Rights Act of 2015, the first year of warranty on your appliance is the responsibility of the retailer where you made your purchase.

This did nothing and he became more and more aggressive on the phone. He ended up ignoring me and the customer service adviser from Tower and started being rude to a separate customer that also wanted to make a return.

The team from tower were so shocked by this encounter that they decided to send me a replacement without the assistance of Argos.

I cannot believe that this was the store manager and for him to be so rude to a manufacture that is heavily stocked at Argos. He needs to go into more customer service training and read up on his company policies and the consumer law

The manager caused me so much inconvenience by driving there to make a return. He opened the packaging to check for faulty and refused to return my item because of "hygienic reasons" when he himself wiped the comforter all over their counter to try to pack it back up. He insisted to check for faulty - which is fine. But didn't end up repackaging my item correctly!

I had explained to him the reason for my return and he refused, twice.

You guys are meant to make customer service easier, not to cause inconvenience to your customers. It's really disappointing.
