Spent a week here training staff, it's a beautiful, welcoming home. All of the staff interacted with care, kindness and respect towards their residents.
The food was delicious, I can recommend the noodles!
Amazing facilities salon, spa, cinema and beautiful well laid out accessible gardens for the residents to enjoy. Looking forward to my next visit.

Such an amazing place too visit. Residents are cared for whole heartedly. Starting with the 5* hotel setting. the residents have live acts 3-4 times a week accompanied by seated yoga, quizzes and a local nursery visiting. the food is outstanding and always plenty of options. The residents have a great community feel within the home and certainly enjoy each others company. The love seeps from the walls, amazing home through and through!!

This is possibly the nicest home I have come across in Somerset. The staff is very hard-working, the management does their utmost best to provide a high standard care.
This is the first home I noticed that staff actually look after the residents’ mental health, spending time with them and never being impatient even though you see how stressful their work is.
The testament of everyone’s hard work is how the service users are able to build close relationships to the staff as well, and many sees them as family. This is so reassuring, where there’s connection, there’s also knowledge. I experienced how deeply the staff cares about the residents and how much they know about their service users.

Most importantly, they are humans, and regardless of the imperfections of the human nature, they’re going above and beyond to support their service users’ day-to-day life.

I’d like to thank you every single one of you at Poets. You’re all legends!

My mum was at Poets Mews from December 2022 until August 2023. She always seemed very happy there, many of the staff really got to know her and, most importantly, they treated her as an individual and she'd love to laugh and sing with them. The place is very clean and the food is excellent

My grandmother is here on the dementia floor and I’m sorry to say I don’t recognise the description in these reviews.

The positives are the rooms are nice and the food is good. Staff have been friendly in my experience, however all that is offered upstairs is the most basic of care and sometimes falls below that

I have frequently found on my visits that my nan has dried excrement on her sheets. When i went this weekend i was told there were no clean sheets available.
Her personal care such as teeth brushing is often neglected. They will tell us its been done as its been ticked off but i can tell you for sure it hasn't been or to a very poor standard. Im told they do activities however in my frequent visits im yet to see then in action. My nan is ALWAYS in bed when i arrive during the day with little effort to make the situation otherwise. As far as i can see residents sit around with minimal interactions. And all this for £4,700 a month.

Is making a fortune to store elderly people with limited consideration for their mental well being. My nan has frequent visitors so is one of the lucky ones without that the situation would be very grim. Management should be more proactive in making sure everyone is being treated with dignity and respect.

UPDATE:
We have since moved my nan to Gorselands and lo and behold she is now clean, well dressed and spends far less time in bed, cementing what we suspected that it was down to Poet News that we frequently found otherwise and despite them saying her personal care had been “ticked off the list” it either wasn’t happens or happenig inadequately. Management should be ashamed

Laughably since I originally posted the review they had a spate of 5 star glowing reviews. Don’t believe the hype

Poets Mews sets a high bar for all other Care Homes. Having spent months looking at far too many Care Homes, the moment my Mother came to see Poets Mews she had moved herself in. Poets Mews goes so much deeper than the gloss of the beautiful surroundings and the amazing facilities, it is all about the Staff. The Staff are fantastic and the Residents are treated with great dignity, care and compassion. My Mother has been made to feel instantly at home and all her worries of moving banished. I cannot recommend Poets Mews highly enough.
