Due to my doctors having zero appointments, they advised to visit my nearest walk in centre for an ear infection due to the risk symptoms progressing.

I visited after a 9 hour day at work, approx 5:30pm, expecting to wait 1.5hours. I was fortunate enough on my visit to get seen to within 20 minutes, sorted with an antibiotic spray and now the problem has almost gone.

I have visited before for a friend and the place was so busy there wasn’t even a seat available - but this time I personally struck lucky. But be mindful of when you visit id say!

Thank you to the lovely nurse who seen to me - I’m very grateful!

Very rude clinician / nurse !! Today we were sent after calling 111 and they allocated appointment in this clinic, with my poor 9 month old daughter and nurse just looked at her and said “ she look perfectly fine to me”
Temperature 38,5C chesty cough , ear infection & refuses to eat for 11h due to bad throat .
Disgraceful!
She got antibiotics in the end…

Firstly please can I suggest everyone disregards the misleading 3.5 star rating shown for this organisation which masks the reality, namely a majority of 5 star reviews. Nothing is ever perfect but these guys are genuinely excellent at what they do. You can feel the positive can do, team culture.

Ponteland Walk-in Centre is one the most consistently high quality NHS services, I have encountered over the years. Whilst thankfully not having been a frequent user of the NHS, it is pleasing and comforting to know that when I have needed relatively urgent attention for my family, the exceptional and trusted team at Ponteland Road is always there and moreover delivers a truly outstanding level of service and advice. It is always simple, straightforward, user friendly and done really well. From previous visits with my Dad, Jacky Watts has always stood out as an absolute superstar. Following my visit last week Dr R Qureshi stands out as possibly one of the best GP doctors I have ever encountered - humble, understated, comprehensive and engaging. Becky was good too.

This is a proven formula which in my humble opinion should be replicated across the country. It puts the service from doctors surgeries to shame.

Please can someone within the NHS listen to this and the other 5 star reviews and proactively look to replicate this proven centre, its exceptional team and culture across the region and the country to properly serve its tax paying customers. Should be reasonably straight forward, subject to getting the right calibre and mix of people.

Thanks.

Came in last night after being advised on 111. No waiting time, saw a doctor in a matter of minutes who was very kind and personable. Was in and out after being examined, given antibiotics, and a nice chat about my interests within 20 mins! Best experience I’ve had with the NHS in my life. Thanks!

Prioritize people with bruised hands rather than a one year old with a high temp who is crying and sweating. Absolutely ridiculous people come straight in and a 3 hour wait with a one year old who has a high temp and got told to be brought to the walk in.

I had the loveliest nurse I think I’ve ever encountered when I went in on a Sunday evening due to an infected abrasion, I was seen within 15 minutes and spent about ten mins speaking to the nurse before I was on my way with a course of antibiotics that I started noticing working two days later. The staff were very welcoming and happy to answer questions. The nhs staff need to be paid more.
