Written on behalf of a man Struggling with chronic health and disability. He Contacted service called pathways for help with forms to fill in. Had to go to project 6 building. He has very visible disabilities he Experienced offensive behaviors - staring, ignorance, loud and aggressive behavior from service users. He asked if he could use the WiFi and was refused. He asked for another appointment was told it had to be discussed with a manager but would get a response the following week - he got no response. He emailed and was completely ignored. He telephones and the woman on the phone makes ignorant statements and assumptions about disabilities. Then plays the “ I’m trying to help you and you’ve got an attitude “ line when in fact she’s clearly had no training in disability awareness
Not good to have to tolerate ignorance and discrimination while seeing the drug and alcohol users being given support, enjoying their free food cafe and a safe space so they can abuse members of the public - slouching around the foyer, being loud and aggressive, dropping litter on the street outside.
Who decided to run a crisis service in a bin like this. You should not be inviting vulnerable people for support in to an environment where the service users would be better suited to a prison.
