I loved every moment of my volunteering project. Project Abroad staff is really professional and careful.
During first two weeks, for my Grown Up Discovery tour, I visited a lot of places in Cambodia (Phnom Penh - Royal Palace and every place remembering killing fields of Khmer Rouge, Kampot with his pepper farm and Kep, Battambang where I’ve had an amazing ride on the real Bamboo Battambang train and finally Siem Riep with Angkor Wat, Bayon and floating village). Everything has been perfect and I enjoyed all places and experience. I stayed in contact with Cambodian people and they are really wonderful, kind and respectful in every situation.
My experience in kindergarten was wonderful; children were so cute and teachers are very friendly.
I teach basic English, played with children and helped teachers in some activities like well washing hands, eat and something else.
In volunteering house (Bayon house) I felt like at my home. Our Cambodian mummy (Mira and Sami) were really kind and so cute. I cried a lot when I’ve to come back in Italy.
I suggest this experience to everyone, young and just a little older like me (I’m 55 years old and this is my first volunteering experience).
Thanks Project Abroad… I’ll come back again.

The best experience for any 16/17year old! My daughter (just finished GCSEs) headed off on her own with trepidation from Heathrow to Cambodia for 3 weeks, and has loved every single minute. She has been exceptionally well looked after, the accommodation has been great, the work they do in the community has a huge impact (both for them and the community) and she has seen so much of Cambodia. On top of that, she has made friends for life. I really can't recommend this highly enough - she will definitely be going to Nepal or Peru with Projects Abroad next year.

I volunteered with projects abroad twice, in Ghana when I was 17 and then in Botswana when I was 22. Both times were life changing. Projects Abroad staff were so helpful, supportive and made each trip very welcoming and safe so that despite going at a young age, I felt taken care of. The experiences themselves were incredible, I was able to live like a local and truly enjoy each country to the max, and every day was always balanced with enough meaningful work and leisure activities to enjoy. I truly recommend Projects Abroad to anyone seeking adventure.

I recently volunteered in Cusco, the placement and host family accommodation were well organised and I felt supported by the PA staff at all times. I have no hesitation in recommending Projects abroad to people of all ages. It is a well established and respected organisation.

I’m 16 years old and went to Cambodia for three weeks to volunteer with children in education. I left London alone nervous for the weeks ahead, but it was one of (if not) the best experience I’ve ever had! I was met by a staff membour at the airport and all the staff were so friendly and helpful with anything we needed wether it be help translating or taking us to the local corner shop and I met some people that I will be friends with for a very long time! Not only was the actual volunteering extremely rewarding and felt as though we were making a big difference in the school but we also got to explore so much of Cambodia including Phnom Penh and learning the history, Siem Reap to see the night markets and Angkor Watt and Kampot to see the beaches. All the accommodation was clean, safe and comfortable and the personal touch to the program was greatly appreciated as they took us to many restaurants and each of us left with a leaving gift of a key ring with personalised photos. Three weeks flew by! A massive thank you to Projects Abroad for making it so brillant and I will definitely be doing another project.

Ten years ago when I was 77 years old, I went to Nepal for a month helping in a school. In the year previous to this, my husband had died after a long illness. I felt so alone and lost.
I discovered Projects Abroad and was amazed at all the places throughout the world where volunteers were welcomed.
The experience changed my life. It was so wonderful . Projects Abroad were very thorough….everything was organised and though I was travelling alone, I felt completely confident and at ease throughout the month I was there. The whole venture gave me a new life…I literally grew wings. Now ten years later I am still running my own business and am very active.
To anyone out there in a similar situation……age is a number…forget it…get your wings and fly.
Thank you Projects Abroad for the experience of a lifetime!
