I love libraries and this one, although it's not a huge one, is a lovely friendly place. There's a great team of dedicated librarians who are always friendly and helpful. We've been coming here for years and really appreciated the selection of children's books when ours were younger. There's a good collection of local history books too. Lately there are jigsaw puzzles which can be borrowed too and a community puzzle spot where one can contribute to the latest jigsaw puzzle effort.
Like many county libraries, Northumberland Library spreads its book series across its sites, but these can be reserved (online or in person) and brought to Prudhoe at no cost (other than a little patience). New books can even be suggested as library additions and if the suggestion is accepted this is a great alternative to buying (and accruing) too many books. This library has been great for supporting our family's reading habit and is a valuable community asset.
