This taster course offers so many skills to take away from working with and caring for hand tools through to how to work to a level of care and precision that is almost hard to imagine! Would recommend to anyone with a keen interest in working with wood whatever your ability there will be something to take forward into your own practice - so much so I myself am already considering signing up to one of their other courses!

Really impressed with this place. I've just completed the 1 week taster course making a tray. As well as coming away with a really nice object, I also learnt a lot more than I was expecting to. Tom, the tutor, is a very knowledgeable, natural teacher. He offered clear explanations of the process, gave detailed answer to our questions, and was full of great tips and insights that I'm already applying in my own workshop. The school has great facilities too, and it was a good opportunity to gain an insight into a professional workshop and studio. I'm sure I will be taking some of their other short courses and, even though I wasn't initially considering it, I'm now more seriously interested in a longer course there should circumstances allow.

I joined a weekend laminating course with Marc Fish at Robinson House . I LOVED the weekend, with a small group and highly interactive / hands on sessions. As well as learning techniques to create curved, compound curve and free form laminations, it provided me with a challenge on where to develop my work: enhancing my current portfolio or embarking on a more artistic route. This course requires some woodworking knowledge but is amazing if you have this foundation. Thank you Marc! Highly recommended.

I attended a short 3 day course at Robinson House Studio earlier this year. Our introduction to this location was a tour around the premises which included the long course teaching workshops, the studios own workshops where we saw items of furniture in various stages of production, the 'machine room' and other facilities that they have 'in house'. It is indeed a very impressive place making amazing furniture. My course was tutored by Theo, an extremely skilled and experienced crafts person who's instruction was clear, very detailed and supported by a pamphlet which included pictures & diagrams. I completed the 3 day course and was very pleased with the item I made.
