If you're a male victim/survivor then I wouldn't even bother with SafeNet, they didn't help me when I needed them and the support worker I had just made up stuff by saying I never disclosed details of my perpetrator when I did. She also stated that I wanted support with mental health when I never requested that, I asked if they offered any courses for male victims/survivors but was told they didn't. I was basically treated as if I'm mentally unwell rather than being supported.

My experience with Safenet is a good reason why male victims/survivors don't report domestic violence/abuse or seek any kind of help for it especially when the perpetrators are female.

I was verbally abused by the manager several times, I left feeling traumatised more and further abused than when I went in - no mindfulness, inappropriate use of language, using trigger words with no apparent concept of their impact - the support staff are great but the manager is 100% in the wrong job - better suited to a prison environment not a complex needs refuge

Worst place to turn to... dictates lives. Holds you abprisoner to your past. Not a gateway to a normal lifestyle after d.v. would not recommend taking refuge accommodation even in the worst case scenarios. They control heating even when you pay a service e charge. Keep you indoors between 10 30am /7 30 am not even access to a cigarette

They keep switching off my heating and hot water even when I pay them £400 weekly rent and £90 monthly electric and gas bills I have 3 children aged under 5 years old and a newborn all ill because they deprive me of heating and hot water. Surely this is illegal.
