I cancelled my membership. I then received an email a month later saying that had an outstanding payment and they charged me a fee due late payment. I asked why and they took about 20days to respond and said that I cancelled the direct debit, which I never. I then paid the 29 pounds fee but not the fee they added. They are now not replying to my emails and sending threatening emails about involving debt collectors for £5 🤣🤣🤣 horrible people. Bring it on

When you have an issue there is no customer service contact. When you do find an email address no reply. Only option is completing a complaint form, message then says should get a reply in 10 days. Ridiculous. Have had no show by class instructor, but haven't had a £3.30 credit, but if members don't attend a class they are charged £3.30. Have had account suspended twice saying £3.30 owed even though I have never not attended a class. Have the hassle of ringing reception to get the ban lifted, which sometimes takes until the following day. Can't book any classes during that time. Very poor. Emails requesting cancellation of membership not answered.

Can't fault eccles gym but the changing rooms are a joke communal showers in 2025, it's more like the 60s with a hand written sign that sez no spitting..0/10 I definitely won't be using them,it must be unhygienic.

I can only go off my own experiences when reviewing here and have found Salford Community Leisure excellent value for money. I have the monthly corporate all inclusive package, which gives you full access to all of the classes, gyms and pools across the Salford area. Some of the gyms are in better condition than others, but for what you pay and for what you get, you are getting a really good deal. The staff and instructors I've found all incredibly friendly and helpful. There's a great range of gym classes at all times of the day, evenings and weekends. You can book over the phone, on their booking system and also on their app. My only criticism is like I mentioned earlier, where some of the gyms are in better condition than others, but that is sadly out of SCL's control due to Tory central government cuts over the past 12 years, meaning budgets are tight. I believe there are plans for all of the gyms to eventually be redeveloped or refurbished, but obviously these things take time.

Monthly membership is excellent value for money, & the pools are clean, well maintained & amply staffed. Even better, there's no need to book swimming in advance, & you're not restricted to only 45 minutes as they have plenty of hour-long (or longer) sessions.

Wouldn't go swimming anywhere else in Manchester. 🙂

The management of the Salford Community leisure is a disgrace to the community. It does not accept complaint and when a customer does complains, it is swept under the carpet and the customer will be left in the dark. This explains why some of their centres treat customers with lack of regard and respect. I celebrated my son's birthday on the mothers' day at Clarndon leisure centre and the manager on site that day was extremely rude to the guests and threw us out of the centre even before 6pm their closing time. The staff was laughing at us whille we were gathering our item to eat outside. It was a total nightmare. The manager was in control of the staff and was coaching them on how to bully us to leave the room, in front of the kids and mums.
I made a complaint first week in April and heard no reply till date 29th of August. I made sure the complaint was received as I rang the management of the salford community leisure after couple of weeks to ask whether my complaint was receved and she told me yes and that she has passed it to someone to look at. Anyway, she did not do a good job obviously as she never bothered to get update from the task she delegated. I think because I was complaining about the behaviour of the onsite manager at Clarendon, no one wants to call a spade a spade and they choose to ignore the complaint. I also emailed Clarendon, but was not surprised as there was no reply. I also lost some of my items .
Beware of the Salford Community leisure especially Clarendon, as the organisation practice secrecy and discrimination. Another parent in our group told me that she was treated the same when she had our daughter's birthday. Thus, their behaviour to black community is appalling and they are allowed to get away with it. They should be ashamed of themselves. BULLIES!

SSV 5 stars out of 5, Sandsy, Siobhan and Emma all sound. Swinton and Pendlebury, hard work! That’s only based off joining up today, hard work & no manners. I’ve since used Broughton, Eccles and latest yesterday was Worsley leisure centres, all 5 out of 5, friendly staff. Just Swinton with the rubbish staff it seems - again only based on joining my local leisure centre and the one unhelpful, attitude problem woman I dealt with. Swinton 0/5.
