I went to the food bank because I lost my job and I had no money to buy food for myself. I was hoping to get some basic items that would last for a few days, but what I received was a joke. The package contained two cans of tomato sauce, one can of salmon, a can of chicken broth, frozen bread, and one sachets of mashed potato and rice. There were no eggs, no oil, no milk, no rice and no fresh fruits or vegetables. The only thing that was edible was a can of salmon ad cereal rolls but I had to eat them with water. This was not enough food not even for one day, and it was not nutritious or satisfying. I felt hungry, angry, and ashamed. The food bank did not help me at all, they only made me feel worse. They should provide more food and more variety to their comunity, and they should respect their dignity and preferences. This was the worst experience I ever had with a food bank.
