Site of the former seaplane station from which coastal patrols flew between Dungeness and Portsmouth. The only surviving elements are the concrete standing and metal rails that the hangar doors once ran on, but a detailed information board helps bring the history to life. The shingle beach is home to a variety of wild flowers, and there are views across the bay to the white cliffs of Seaford.
The Tidemills site just to the east is well worth a look while visiting, with excellent, informative signage, and foundations and flint walls of the buildings that once stood in the area. There's a large free parking area just off the A259.

Interesting place to visit. We parked at Buckle Car Park (free, although it was February) and walked along the beach path with the dog. Past the old Tide Mill ruins. A fix of local history and a good dog walk. Happy days 🐾😁

Although there is not much left above ground, what is there (at ground level) is very emotive
