This is Lucy. She was adopted by my daughter a year ago. Second Chance Southampton undoubtedly saved her life. She was in a terrible state, found in a green house with half her fur missing and very very thin. Look at her now! Brilliant place that does brilliant work.

These guys do a great job giving animals what they deserve a second chance. We originally decided to Foster Mario (as he was known then) he was scared and fearful of everyone and everything thanks to being miss treated for years. After the months of hiding and time I spent just reading to him showing him we are not all evil he came out on Christmas day. Now he sits on the sofa with us and gets into bed with us. Now for my 30th birthday he is now officially my baby boy buddy 😍😍😍

We adopted our Border Collie from here after searching for 4 months,
Visiting The Blue Cross, RSPCA Fareham, and four dogs Trust centres - spending huge amounts of time checking out web sites for doggies only to get to all of them And none of the dogs were ever available!!! Even got a train
To Sussex only to be told the dog I went to see was reserved as I got off of the train 6 hr round trip wasted time and money
We weren’t impressed at all great shame as I would never return to any of
Them to adopt again
West End Second Chance however were lovely, professional, knew what they were doing, fair and keep the kennels clean
We viewed Swift (was Barney) one day-got a house garden check the next and had him by the third day!! 6.5 yrs later we love him to pieces and haven’t looked back xxx
It’s now 2024 still have our lovely boy thank goodness xx

We found three puppies and wanted to keep them but they were rehomed without letting us know even though we kept phoning every week for two months. They were not listed on the site either. It really doesn't encourage people to take puppies they find to the vets either. Sooo disappointed 😥

My mum dropped off a few covers and dog toys, just after Xmas , and left them in your safe shed. She has a few dog beds that she think you could use in your shelter, but they won’t fit in your safe shed, what day and time would you be able to meet her, she can drop them off, but will need someone to meet her by the shed. I hope this makes sense.

Due to my health condition, sadly I had to part with my best friend, Ted. Second chance, thankfully, took him in and promised me that he would go to a good, caring and loving home.
For as much as it broke my heart to part with my little friend of 3 years, it was comforting to know that he was in very safe, caring and loving care and that he will be re-homed to someone who will give him all the love he deserves.

Difficult to get through on the phone but understand that staff are busy looking after the animals. Better to email. We adopted our dog from them. We needed a bit of time to be sure we wanted to go ahead with the adoption and although the centre was keen for us to go ahead on first visit we took our time. Fortunately our little dog was still available when we were ready to go ahead. They made sure she was neutered, wormed and deflead and paid for her initial vaccinations. Fee was rather high compared to the larger rescue centres.
