My 5yo son needs plenty of encouragement in order to feel confident enough to join a play group/sport. We tried different activities, and he stopped with all of them until we tried martial arts at Shin Gi Tai. The team is great! They have more coaches on the same class which means that they can interact and support all the children independently. We are now 10 lessons in and my son he is still happy to go and train!

Shin Gi Tai has done wonders for my daughter's confidence. All the teachers are patient and kind while also being firm and teaching respect. The lessons are fun and engaging and they have excellent facilities and equipment. I can't recommend Shin Gi Tai enough.

Our Son is thoroughly enjoying his classes at the Academy. Each session is well structured and taught and he has learnt so much already. The atmosphere is welcoming and kind and his smile during and after each class, says it all!

Just went to another birthday party here for our grandson - once again, really well organised and loads of fun for the children. The guy who ran the party managed to keep 16 children completely focused and entertained for a couple of hours. The parties are really well run and are a great idea if you want something a bit different for a children’s party.

I can’t recommend Shin Gi Tai enough. It has a strong reputation for high-quality instruction, a welcoming atmosphere, and a deep focus on technique and discipline.

My arms are paralysed, and I was incredibly nervous and sceptical about whether I’d receive support after negative experiences in other sports. However, the coaches (and classmates) at Shin Gi Tai have been phenomenal, and I feel incredibly supported. I can’t put into words my gratitude for everyone there.

Whether you’re a beginner or more advanced, the coaches are fantastic at adapting their teaching style to suit every level. They offer a variety of classes, including Karate, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Tai Chi, Muay Thai, and Kick Boxing (including some ladies-only classes), with personalised attention to ensure you progress at your own pace.

There is a strong sense of community as everyone is supportive and dedicated to improving. If you’re looking for a place to start or elevate your martial arts practice, there’s no better choice than Shin Gi Tai.

What a brilliant group. So inclusive and interactive with the kids. They always welcome you with a smile.
I have a child with sen needs, the team have taken the time to listen and understand what he requires and how to approach him.
Toni who works as admin regularly checks in with parents to see if there are any requirements or requests for their children.
Each session has at least 3 instructors with 1 taking the session and the rest giving individual pointers or guidance. They are kind and encourage the children to ask questions. What a fab team

This is the only non sen group out of education we are able to access due to the quality of this team.

I did a Muay Thai taster session last night and have signed up for a membership. I've done some training in the past so have experienced some different clubs and I have to say, this place is impressive. Many clubs hire space in community centres and the like, which is fine, but the Academy name here is appropriate. It feels like an Academy as soon as you walk in the door, with the dedicated spaces, wide range of equipment and welcoming atmosphere.

The training last night was excellent. Thoughtful instruction with just the right amount of detail without being overwhelming, so easy to put into practice. The instructors then get around the room well and give direct feedback. The rapport they have with the regular students is obvious and I felt included in that straight away.

There was a wide range of ages and skill levels and its clearly very popular with the youngsters! I was very impressed, some of them must have been training for quite a while! I wish I'd found this place when my daughter was younger as I'd have no hesitation in enrolling her for classes here.

One of the most appealing things is the membership options, which is a rolling monthly payment that you only need to give a months notice to cancel, you aren't tied into a contract (which I think is becoming more common). There is flexibility in which nights and classes you can train, so you can do Muay Thai Monday night and follow it up next week with a Boxing class Thursday night! Absolutely perfect for me.

Overall, this is a nice, friendly, well-organised, impressive academy that caters for all ages and multi-disciplines. I'm very much looking forward to becoming a regular.

Fantastic family run martial arts academy. Extremely friendly staff who promote the traditions and skills of martial arts. My son who is 9 absolutely loves his lessons. He has so much respect for his sensi and has learnt so much independence. Couldn’t recommend enough!
