It has taken me a long time to write this, especially as I had lost my mum.
My mum became a resident of snapethorpe hall back in 2021 due to a broken foot and she also was experiencing end stage dementia and her stay was for only 5 months.
I have to agree with Ann Brittains review as it completely echos our experience with this care home. The entertainment coordinator who at that time was rude and also made my visits to my mum difficult, infact I was once told that I could be asked to leave if I had physical contact with mum because I complained that my mums eyes were stuck together with discharge from a eye infection and not one care staff member would clean them, simply saying they needed to wait until her eye drops were due, trouble is my dear mum couldn’t open her eyes, this caused so much distress to mum and me that my brother demanded to see mum.
Honestly, if you are looking for a place for a loved one, bypass this one, we found a lovely alternative place for mum but sadly she passed away the evening before she was due to leave. This care home robbed me of the last 5 months of my gorgeous mums life.

If I could give minus stars I would! Horrible place. They left my dad banging on the walls for help while his leg bag was beyond full and emptied it by squeezing the leg bag while it was above my dad.. he needed the toilet I asked for assistance to get him there but no one came so he soiled himself and the faeces was all over his catheter, again I asked for assistance that left him sat there for over 25 minutes in which time I had to feed him while sitting in it and then he laid down and went back to sleep still no one came to clean him.. 1 carer complained he had been banging on the wall I asked how long he had been like this and she said since he came out of hospital I said well it seems like he's got sepsis again! They didn't seem concerned and said the doctor was on his rounds so he will check him.i had to leave to go to work but the carers were talking in the office and I reminded them AGAIN mh dad was now sleeping in his own poo! They again brushed me off saying they would get to him.. they hadn't been feeding him either he would eat ehen been fed but was unable to feed himself they just beenleaving his food and then recording he hadn't eaten it.. no one was attempting to give him fluids.
I called in the managers office to complain and explained he wasn't getting fed or fluids given and he was sitting in his own poo and her response was we are not a nursing home and we don't cater for that.. so they just left him there to die.. she did however made sure I was aware he had been banging on the walls keeping the other residents up, he was non verbal due to his sepsis and was shouting for help the only way he had left.. this place should be closed down and people should be charged with neglect.. also just on a side note as k was walking in I saw a member of staff click in a residents face as she walked by her and then just carry on.. and to add insult to injury when I went to collect my dad's things I asked for his spending money back from the safe and apparently they have stolen it put in on their bank making interest from it and he can't have the cash back we stored in the safe! now they will send it by CHEQUE!!! It was just spending money they were storing for hair cuts or chiropodists not for them to put jn their bank!!!
The staff are rude and uncaring..
And after the da with the poo incident and squeezed leg bag and me saying he needed hospital which they ignored he ended up in hospital 3 hours later because he has SEPSIS and I was called in to hospital resuscitation because they believed he was dying.. he had ecoli that caused a water infection and sepsis.. this was because of the negligence of these horrible people

I'd advise anyone who is contemplating putting their relative into this establishment to do their homework.
This care provider needs to rethink their policies and procedures as they do not provide basic care.
The staff lie to the family and when questioned can make the lack of visits personal.
