The owner was the best
We were on a long bike packing trip and he couldn’t have helped more.
Offered hose for washing bike rag to dry the bikes then oil for the chain.

The location of this campsite was ideal for our walk along the coast path, the owner was very friendly. However, the toilet blocks were very grotty and desperately needed updating/a deep clean. There were two small showers with 3/4 size doors. Immediately outside was a bench right next to the toilet cubicle and sinks where you had to get dried/changed. £14 a night per adult was way overpriced for the condition of the facilities.

Sparkhayes is a beautiful little campsite nestled in the small village of Porlock, the perfect location for visiting Lynmouth & Lynton, Minehead, the South West Coast Path and Exmoor.|The owner was very friendly and quick to direct us to where we should set up our tent. Simple yet clean and functional facilities for all needs. The showers were hot, there was always loo roll & there is a little kitchenette with microwave and kettle along with laundry facilities. |The site is lovely and quiet even though just a short walk from the main street. Lots of pubs to eat in, local shops and regular bus.|We have stayed here numerous times before and will continue to do so in the future.

We stayed for one night as my wife is a novice camper and wasn't sure if sleeping in the great outdoors was for her.|Where I can start by reviewing the campsite, which is set in a beautiful panoramic valley with the sea and stunning hills as a backdrop to the campsite. |The gentleman who owns the campsite is friendly and welcoming to our dogs and me, and the available facilities are outstanding and clean. |As avid walkers, we were taken aback at the choice of walks on our doorstep and would have loved to stay for many more nights.|We are planning our next visit to this beautiful recluse in a magical part of Somerset.

A great campsite, amazing location & proper camping as it should be. |Definitely will be back.|A very relaxed 3 night stopover in a beautiful part of the country. |Easy walk into Porlock itself with a good selection of pubs & shops, located so close to the South West Coast Path. |Easy to book & find, showers & toilets & electric hookups for those that need it, so refreshing to find an unregimented campsite. Perfect.

Stayed 2 nights at the start of June at Sparkhayes in my campervan. I hadn't booked in advance and just turned.
The site owner was very friendly and helpful.
The amenities are basic but adequate and the showers/toilets were kept clean.
There are 2 mini marts within 10 minutes walk of the site, a pub ( the royal oak ) is even closer.
Some lovely walks from the campsite, Porlock weir is about 30 minutes walk away, the ship inn is a great little pub, and there is a woodland walk back if you fancy a change.
I enjoyed my stay and will definitely go back.
