My daughter is looking for a venue to do ladies keep fit. trying to get people up and active, and improve their quality of life

We approached spotland community centre, and they were extremely helpful and accomodating, even giving advice to help make the classes more successful.

I started a free sewing class. Then I had to pay a £1 a week which I didn't mind cos the government paid my fees to them. On my 2nd class I was asked by the Asian tutor if I'd taken a spool case which comes with every sewing machine. She knew I didn't even have a sewing machine because I asked her let me know if anyone is selling one. So why would I take one. I was the only white student and she didn't ask anyone else if as far as I'm aware but cos the class was all Asian she may of asked in their language. She told me she was going to start to charge for the spool cases now. I didn't attend for a cpl week cos I was ill so when I came back my tutor thought I left. I did like my tutor and she was helpful but their was just too many students in each class to teach because if you don't know how to make clothes then 20 students need help in a 2-3 hour class then its impossible. I just altered a cpl pairs of trousers to get used to the machine etc before I begin to make clothes. I didn't mind it being an all Asian class. Half couldn't speak English or were too busy to talk to me if I needed help cos the tutor was too busy. I left the course cos i knew I would struggle getting help cos I want to learn how to make clothes etc. Everyone was as nice as possible though.
Another time I had somebody help fill out my benefit forms for free and have no complaints about the chap that helped fill out my benefit forms.
When I went back to make an appointment to help fill out another form I was shocked to hear the receptionist tell me its £40!! And £10 per hr for help with an appeal for benefits. I'm on BENEFITS. I worked all my life so struggled with all these forms I needed his help with..You cant offer something that's been free and all of a sudden charge that amount surely.
