Hi I just wanted to put on a review about St Barnabas to share with people who are either a customer or a volunteer. This is giving me an opportunity to give my feedback out to the staff. All the other volunteers were really friendly and good to talk to and working together as a team. The manager who is the main manager in this case however will know how awkward she feels after letting me go from the shop after she said to me - I'm afraid you can't volunteer after a long conversation about having my mobile phone out when not supposed to or even not another good enough answer to my question whether it was in the last few weeks or months when I was volunteering at the time and not letting someone know that I injured myself and not going to the first aid kit straight away when on the day the bosses were coming in. I didn't appreciate on the Monday morning back in December on my last shift I didn't like the tone of the manager who put a note in the book about mobile phones are not part of working as a business so I feel like it was a threat and it did really upset me at the time but in the meeting that I had with the manager she said about me coming in to talk about what I would like changing or even come back to volunteer in a few months and at the moment I'm thinking of not doing that so I can't promise anything for the future. They have been a few issues previously before at the time including, the week date sign item wasn't clear at all when being questioned about doing it correctly, making sure I use the correct signing date item gift aid label or whatever, using the incorrect colour pen for signing and dating when it was my own pen I brought from home so I wasn't at all happy about that! She should have known during the time I was going through a family bereavement and not to give me a hard time so instead of this she either forgot to tell me or decided she couldn't be bothered and decided to tell my friend to inform me that the shop would be closed on the Monday due to staff shortages and this was the day before my auntie's funeral. Not that I told her this but it would have been nice to know she would give me less of a hard time and treated me a little bit better. This isn't just for me but also for other volunteers as well when working in the shop mainly in the back room. Whenever I used to go in the shop to see my friends in the retail area and the manager would walk off feeling awkward and to me it was rude and ignorant so I felt like saying something. Not only that had happened but also creating another issue of her own when she said to me when I was in the back room talking to my friends as she noticed I walked in so get to the point to what she said to me- I'm afraid you're not allowed in the back room seeing as you're not working here anymore so I said to her I was visiting my friends and she said that was fine but only in the retail area so I stormed out feeling upset so that was another thing that wasn't clear at all so I didn't think I needed permission to go in the back room at all. This is my review to put a complaint in about how this has affected me in the last few months how disgraceful I have been treated by the manager and I come out to help volunteering in the back room and this is the thanks I get from the manager to be so ungrateful and just because she has issues as well she shouldn't even be taking it all out on other volunteers as it's unfair and especially one volunteer who is known to be deaf so whatever pressure she's got going on don't take it personally on other volunteers please. This is all for now so no drama from me whatsoever.

Staff are amazing and they have a deaf kid which can communicate with other people in the community and also the boss is so friendly and polite to others and they have nice brooches and other jewellery. It’s close to town and they have nice clothes and the shop is always tidy and they are very welcoming to people and they are very hard working and they have varies if thing for toddlers to elderly and they have a nice layout of the shop. It’s close by to Morrisons and the changing room is absolutely stunning to see with the flowers around the mirror and it’s absolutely gorgeous but they need more people to join the team as they have applications to apply.
