A total shambolic experience. I have donated on many occasions. I offered an electric mobility bed not 6 months old, slept in for a maximum of 40 nights prior to mother going into hospital. The gentleman took all my details and arranged collection. I have now wasted a whole day waiting for collection with a no show. Speaking to a representative of St Helena's, I was informed that I had not shown any pictures of condition. I was not asked for this information on booking on the Monday and would have returned with the information. If there was an issue, why did they not contact me on the Tuesday prior to the collection date on the Wednesday. This organisation needs to improve its customer service. I am so angry with this situation.

just lately my donations are totally scrutinised by a lady, as if i am doing something wrong. most of my items are nearly new or new with labels still on. one time she took all the cover of my cushions and threw them back at me. they were new from next and now you seem to be closed ?

I go there quite often to donate and buy the odd item, however I feel some of the clothes are overpriced for a charity shop as most people who buy from charity shops don't have a lot of money to spare. Nice cafe with some homemade cakes.

Disgusted, took our donations all the the way to Stanway from Frinton as website said accepting goods. We were careful to not take any items that were not accepted as stated on their website. Lady on door most unhelpful, gave me a trolley to fill and then systematically went through each item and said no.

We were donating Xmas items, quality speaker stands, wicker children's chairs, rugs, small fitness equipment, crockery, mirrors, curtains and cushions. All were very good, quality, clean and some new items. None of theses items were on the list as non acceptable. She even had the cheek to say "no mug sets unless they are 6's or more."

We had put a lot of effort in by bubble wrapping and boxing with tissue paper etc. We will never donate to you again. When we were running a wedding business, we gave you our end of lines stock, £100's in value. Never again.

We're moving house at the moment and have donated several boxes worth of nice things here over the last few weeks. Last weekend however, the gent on the door taking items was so rude and unhelpful, we won't be coming back here. The charity shop across the road are so much more appreciative (and actually say thanks), that I'll continue taking things there in future.

Lovely charity shop but would appreciate a thank you rather than scrutinise everything I give them. Also given many many things with no gift aid applied to my name.
