Not been in the church from getting married til my mothers funeral 40 years later. Still the same levels of cleanliness and still has the beautiful alter and 2 side alters. The organ is still marvellous. I don’t know who the parish priest is now but it was Father Connolly for my entire childhood whom I had great respect for and he knew the names of all the children at St John’s school following preparation for the first holy communion at the age of 7. I’m no longer a member of any organised religion but I believe in God and the church still has a calming effect on me. My guardian angel has protected me through many scenarios and I loved the processions with flowers wearing a white dress and veil. Loved it.

Always a joy to be involved in community events. They are so generous with allowing New Neighbours Together to use the church hall when they need it. NNT Burnley is a charity that welcomes and supports asylum seekers and refugees in the area. There is plenty of parking an outside area for the children to play safely and holiday Fun Days run by very talented and creative volunteers.
