St Luke’s shops in Crookes is one of the best in Sheffied. Quick turn over of stock means always new bargains to be found. Sensibly priced so both the buyer and shop benefits. Always found the staff to be really helpful and pleasant. Well done St Lukes Crookes!!!

(The shop itself sells some brilliant stuff at very fair prices. The 1* I have given refers specifically to a very rude and unpleasant member of staff / volunteer.)
I have donated at least 10 bags of clothes over the last year or so to this shop and have always been ‘greeted’ by the same woman who is rude and acts as though I’m a nuisance by having the audacity to donate my unwanted items.
I genuinely have no idea how someone so unpleasant managed to get a job here, given the fact there are hundreds of people who are looking for work and could do a better job. It’s even hard to get a voluntary position at the moment so I am dumbfounded as to how this person has been given a customer facing role.
Sadly I will not be returning here to either shop or donate items as I’ve had enough of being spoken to in a disrespectful and belittling manner. Given the fact there are other reviews mentioning rude staff, this branch of St Luke’s need to take action.

Took two two seater sofas to St Luke’s on Crookes today. I had gone in last week to explain that I was bringing the sofas, described the condition and confirmed they had the fire labels intact.
Myself and my friend spend nearly 2 hours carrying both sofas to the charity shop. All cushions had been washed and dried before we took them.
I was met with a very unpleasant woman who made both myself and my friend feel really uncomfortable. We felt questioned regarding the sofas and their condition, asking if the sofa cushions were ‘wet’ when I had stated they were freshly washed, and we had to stand outside the shop whilst she ‘examined’ the sofas before we took them in. We bought the sofa cushions separately to the sofas as it was so heavy, and we were then questioned if we would actually bring the cushions afterwards or just dump the sofa. Another worker at St Lukes was absolutely lovely and thanked us for our effort of bringing the sofas. Her colleague came across incredibly rude and patrionising. Will go to the tip next time.

I donated so much over the years... my charity of choice in Sheffield. However the last visit we were turned away because there was no-one to accept the goods. A king size bed was rejected because it "wasn't very good quality". It was solid wood, modern and way better than the tat on display in the adjacent furniture store. And the telephone donation service is a joke. You can only ever leave messages and the call back is rarely convenient. Shop assistant says a lot of people have complained. Really good stuff ended up on the tip. Needs a good shake up.

Good shop but current restrictions are ridiculous. It’s a huge space and with a maximum 6 customers you end up queuing for a massive amount of time. Considering we are all wearing face masks it seems over cautious and unnecessary. If they actually want to make any money and not close they should increase the amount of people allowed in. As I queue there are 2 totally empty aisles.

The store actually has good range of products and would recommend , but the two white male staff didnt seem friendly at all. They don’t speak to you or even show basic courtesy, and to think the two men were well above their 60’s and should know better. What a shame and disgrace for charity shop workers who should be very welcoming to buyers so as to raise more funds for good causes. The owners should look into this customer service relation ASAP.
