Genuinely very welcoming. Kind choir to join (come hang out with us on Monday evenings!) with a nice mix of music, congenial coffee hour and community events, art on the walls created by the whole congregation at “messy church.”

This place feels like God’s home, not just God’s house.

Even the space has a beautiful balance. What it lacks in ornament it makes up for in heart. There are four wings that’s have a kitchen, play area and prayer corner all in one, an area for the choir, and one for the congregation (the kitchen and parts of the play area turn into seating when the church isn’t being used for events like the community larder (which I highly recommend as a good deal and a lovely chance to meet very sweet people), and is being used for a service).

The grounds are also a very relaxing place to sit and think, or pray, or eat lunch.

If you’re nervous coming to a new place, just come as you are—plenty of people introduced themselves to me, and things I’m used to hearing tutting or judgement for (kids not being all “decorous” and behaved, people showing up late), I’ve seen accepted as just a part of life, and dare I say it—offered grace for the normal, human things they are.

What A church Being loving and offering its members grace? But aren’t Christians kinda opinionated and not always in nice ways? Yeah sometimes… unfortunately… sorry if you’ve experienced that other places.

Nobody’s perfect but this church seems to have gotten the memo on unconditional love and gives it a very good go from what I’ve seen!

And on that subject—for my fellow alphabet squad members, I haven’t gotten vibes of terror or disapproval when I’ve mentioned my volunteer work with queer youth (with another organization), but I also pass as straight and cis, so still spending time and learning what it’s like here. General sense is likely a mix of understanding and awareness, but definitely not a place of hate or intolerance from all impressions so far, which gives me so much hope to have found a church home in a new town. Fingers crossed!

This has been my home church for past 10 years. We are really down to earth, and a loving church family. Obviously ups and downs as in any family, but we have a deep concern for one another within our church community. Children are especially welcomed.
